Raincross Hotel for us was clean, comfortable, well run, staff was friendly, and it’s in a downtown neighborhood with a dozen good restaurants within easy walking distance. A grocery store is across the street. Note however, the property is distinctly NOT fancy. The layout is like a traditional motel. Doors open to an outdoor walkway. Rooms are small and somewhat plain. But everything in our room was new and well maintained. There was an iron and iron board, a coffee machine, a hair dryer, and a half-size refrigerator (larger than a mini-fridge). The bed was comfortable. The bedding was excellent. Still though, Raincross is quite plain. No ornate lobby or extravagant hotel restaurant. My initial plan was to book a fancier property in the neighborhood. But I was amazed to find that Raincross is consistently rated higher overall compared to upscale and famous hotels nearby. So I gave in, booked the cheaper yet higher-rated option, and we were very pleased. We wanted a comfortable and convenient place to stay while we did stuff in downtown Riverside, so Raincross was a perfect choice.

The room was OK a little dated sort of dirty, but the bathroom was horrible. Peeling paint on the ceiling of the shower unfinished paint behind the sink look like someone remodeled and then take the time to paint it again.
