This place deserves ZERO STARS... I booked 6 weeks out for Halloween weekend. At that time, the rates were $75 a night. So I booked for three nights thru *******. The option I was given was to pay upon arrival. Night before check in, I called this hotel and talked to a gentleman who was very short with me on the phone and treated me like I was bothering him. I called to confirm my reservation and to make sure that there were zero Hiccups. He said that the "internet was down" and he "couldn't access the reservation at this time". Told me to call back tomorrow. The next day was check in day and I called around noon. The same gentleman answered and said that the reservation was "canceled because we didn't pay for the room yet". I explained to him that the agreement was to pay at the property upon check-in per the contract that he has with *******. He then said he canceled cause there was no credit card on file. I explained to him that he could have used the credit card on my ******* account. He said that's not HIS responsibility and he didn't want to be left holding a room with no deposit. I then explained to him that he didn't even give me the curtesy to wait till check in time to see if I would even show (3pm). He just kept repeating himself and then I asked him to just take the credit card over the phone and he said that he would have to charge me the going rate of $178 a night for three nights. Then it instantly dawned on me what he was doing.. trying to rip me off. He cancels the $75 a night that I booked back in mid September and charges me $178 the current going rate. I called ******* and they called him and they told me that there was nothing they could do cause it wasn't their hotel and gave me a $100 credit for another booking. They even tried to book another hotel in that area at the rate of $75, but all the hotels were around $200 per night and weren't gunna give anyone a break. I called the hotel back and told him that what he was doing was crooked and he said he "heard it all before" and asked me if I still wanted the room at $178. So I hung up on him. Reading other reviews, this is something he does routinely. Takes advantage of people after he puts them in a desperate situation.
