Wonderful holiday, loved the relaxed vibe of the hotel! As an older hotel it’s spread out over a large area with lots of well maintained gardens. The big pool was a bonus as I could keep up my swimming. The food was excellent with plenty of choice. Very clean, well maintained room in a modern style, we were in a garden view room near the quiet pool, lovely! The staff helped make this an especially great experience, especially Maria on evening duty at the pool bar! And if you want a massage Chara and Eva at the Aegeo Spa were amazing, one of the very best massages I’ve had! All in all a great experience and we look forward to visiting again!

Definitely not 5 star hotel. Had two nights of entertainment out of 7 days. Had to pay for drinks after 11:30 also food. Wouldn’t stay here again the staff are really good but for your money you can go better places. Also I wanted a bottle of water couldn’t get it from the bar so made a point of asking for 6 glasses no logic too it

On arrival at the hotel we were greeted warmly by the staff at the desk. Checking was completed with no issues but, like is common now, we had to pay the Tourist Tax of almost £100. Not the hotels fault but worth a mention so you don’t get any surprises. Our bags were taken by staff and we were shown directly to our room. We had a standard room and it was a lovely size with king size bed. Other facilities included WiFi, coffee machine, TV, bathroom with walk in shower, air con. The room itself was spotless and cleaned on a daily basis and fresh towels provided. The only minor complain is there is only one TV channel for English guests Sky News. Not an issue as we’re out and the room was a base but at the end of a long day laying in bed it would be nice to have a choice. The channels were aimed at German Guests. The hotel itself is stunningly beautiful and spotlessly clean throughout. Don’t worry about getting up early and saving sun beds there is absolutely no need. There are plenty for everyone and was never an issue for us. The pools are clean, as well as the surrounding areas. You can order drinks from the app of the hotel directly to your sun beds. It’s a simple app but does the job and drink were with us within 15 minutes. The pool side snack bar which is open throughout the day was the best I have experienced. There was everything you could want from sausage rolls to salads, doughnut and other sweet treats. Plenty to keep you going. The food in the all inclusive was also a great experience. Every night had a theme night such as Greek, Italian, BBQ, Fish etc. As well as a full range of salads, fresh fruit and a huge selection if you don’t fancy the theme dishes. You will never go hungry. A negative for the hotel and I really hope they take notice is the table service for drinks. At busy times it would be difficult to get the attention of the staff as they are so busy and not enough people for table service. I understand they want to give the guest a personal touch but if you go all meal with one drink, or not any at all then it just causes frustration. They would be better to have both coffee and drinks machines so people can help themselves. If they want to keep table service then they need to ensure it’s adequately covered. Small complaint for a good dining experience overall. If you are staying seven nights or more you are entitled to have a meal in one of the two paying restaurants but book as soon as you arrive or you may miss out. We had ours in the Greek restaurant and it was the highlight of our stay. There were 5 starters, main course and a desert. We were stuffed! The quality of the food and the presentation was better than anything I had experienced at any other resort. On our last day the flight wasn’t until 22:30 and check out was 11:00. We left our cases in a secure room and still had full access to the hotel including the all inclusive food and drinks. Just a quick mention on the drinks. The beer is local and not the be

Lovely welcome Very late arrival so sandwiches left in the fridge. Although they weren't gluten free my partner said they were very tasty and were filled with local feta cheese and juicy tomatoes. Gluten free food: lots of choice-ask and they give you what looked like schar gluten free bread. Lots of gluten free buffet options that are clearly labelled with numbers as to what allergens are in the dish. For breakfast, I couldn't eat much but both lunch and dinner service had more than enough that I could eat with plenty of choice. The chicken gyros is a must! Lots of local dishes woth plenty of vegetables and a good mix of meat and fish. The salads were also always different and interesting enough. Rooms Big bottles of water given out every day as part of the daily room service. They also have a fridge in yhe room and the all inclusive deal meant we got cola and beers stocked once in the fridge at no extra charge. All floors and surfaces immaculate. Fresh towels given every day for rooms too and there was free pool towels available from the quiet pool. Immaculate room, big king size bed (total upgrade from our double at home!) And really comfy. Rooms are cleaned every day as well and nespresso coffee pods also restocked on request. We thought originally thay a sea view room would be better. However, as these are the same side as the evening entertainment which was sometimes a little loud, we realised we actually had the better deal. Hotel amenities We used the hotel for the sun loungers which had extra padding! Always a bonus! No charge either which we loved! They were also cleaned every day. They give you a qr code to download an app when you first arrive hotel. This lets you book restaurants in the resort (a Asian inspired and an authentic Greek one). Be warned! Book as soon as possible as bookings quickly fill up! We opted for the Greek one and the restaurant were very good at adapting the food for my gluten free diet. However, they didn't tell us that the non- gluten free starters were meant to be shred sp by the tome it got to our mains, my partner was stuffed. I tried the lamb thay was served for the main (adapted to be gluten free!) And it was lovely! We couldn't fit anything else into us by the tome it came to dessert so we left early. Im sire whatever it was would have been equally delicious. My best advice, arrive very hungry! The app also lets you order drinks from your sun loungers too! Theres a few local bars around the area as well as a few small shops all within a 5 minute walk. We felt it was nice but you could easily stayed in the resort without having to leave. Staff We also found that there was always someone in the reception area that would help you book trips out as well as being easy to find cars and bikes to rent in the local area. However,if you plan to travel by taxi then ask at reception early! You can't book taxis we were told so we had to be up really early to guarantee we got some transport int

We have just returned from our honeymoon at the Ixian Grand Hotel. Rooms were extremely tired and run down, mould, leaking showers, fixtures and fittings hanging off. Some areas dangerous with metal hanging from the stairs. Be aware if you think you have paid for a swim up pool you may be given a plunge pool. We complained about the first room to which we were responded to in a very rude manner and told nobody had complained before. On moving rooms we spoke to numerous guests next to us who said they had been moved between 2-3 times and all rooms just as bad. I have to say food in the restaurants for the guests staying in the suites was very nice but the buffet restaurant was average at best. Overall I would say if you are looking to pay 5* prices for a 3* hotel and don’t mind mouldy rooms and bits of metal hanging down ripping clothes this is the hotel for you.

I went to the Ixian Grand with my daughter to celebrate her A level results. We did have a nice time overall, the room was nice with a lovely ocean view, it was clean and comfortable, a well stocked fridge and robes. The restaurant was small but catered for everyone, my daughter’s a bit of a fussy eater, but always found something she liked. The food was always cold but that’s pretty standard with all inclusive and unavoidable. We always got beds and they’re all close to the sea and pool, yes the beach is rocky but it was fine, the sea was so lovely it was worth stumbling over the stones. The one and only bad experience was the spa, on day one we were stopped by the spa sales team, they were there every day waiting to pounce on people when they come out the restaurant, when they weren’t scouring the beaches looking for prey. We did actually want a treatment however, but we were railroaded into booking what she thought we needed, that was, the Cretan massage and the ice queen facial for my daughter, apparently very good for young skin. She never mentioned prices before she was on the phone booking in times. They could fit us in the next day for the massages and the day after for the facial, I said ok and she had it all written down on the receipt and then said that will be €433!!! For 2 massages and a facial??? I’m annoyed at myself for paying it, but I think I was in shock so I did. Speaking about it with my daughter after, we decided to cancel the facial as she was worried about her sensitive skin and we had something else we wanted to do on that day. So when we went along for our massage the day before the facial appointment, I said we’d like to cancel the facial for tomorrow, the guy said sure let’s sort it out after your massage. We filled a pre treatment form out, where I stated intense pressure for my massage as I have a lot of tension and like a firm massage, well you couldn’t even call it a massage, I was basically basted like a turkey for 1 hour, literally just covered in oil, no pressure no massage techniques nothing, the therapist was miserable like she didn’t want to be there and the music playing was like a Greek jazz not at all relaxing or what I would call spa music. I came away feeling more tense than when I went in, to then be told I can’t get a refund for the facial as it’s 24 hours cancellation policy, this was not mentioned prior, nor was it written anywhere. I was not happy as we were there at 12.45 the facial was 10.30 the next day, I know technically that’s not quite 24 hours but really!! She said sorry but it’s higher up, I said can I speak to someone higher up then, she called someone and spoke to them on the phone in Greek, hung up and said sorry there’s nothing we can do, we can offer you cosmetics to the same value, which I did not want, as they had already tried to upsell said products which was another awkward and not relaxing experience as they weren’t even nice. I reiterated I just want a refund and she point bla

Excellent hotel. Very clean, super friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. Go to the spa and have a massage. Labrini did mine. She was great. You get free use of the spa all day. Shame they bar doesnt make the cocktails from scratch. No thought of effort made, just added alcohol to premade mixtures. Not the best coctails ive ever had. However the puddings are fab. We would go back.
