Stayed on a Sunday night for the very low price of £60 for what was a comfortable double. The location is really good and central, close to wide range of restaurants and shops and the hotel itself is newly refurbed and very clean. Just a 5 minute walk from the station and therefore very easy access to London.

A real mixed bag with this hotel. Some huge positives and some negatives too which really affected our ability the give a higher rating. It's in a great, central location. We couldn't park in the onsite carpark but parked just a few minutes walk away and were given a 50% discount when we mentioned this at check in (you just swipe the card you're given when you pay at the car parking machine) which was useful. Reception staff on both check in and out were super efficient and helpful. The hotel is clean, modern and finished to a high standard. We had booked a dinner, bed and breakfast option which offered great value for money. The room was a standard double and whilst it was spacious, the bed itself was tiny. It was really soft, seemed to dip in the middle and was very high. Over the bed is (what we assumed) was the smoke alarm. It flashed all night and we felt that whilst it's absolutely necessary, it was absolutely not necessary to place directly above the bed and made for a dreadful nights sleep. The bathroom was fab - clean and comfortable with plenty of towels and toiletries. The dinner included in the price is from the onsite menu in the Indian restaurant downstairs and was a real highlight of the stay. The food was superb and authentic and our waiter made us so welcome. Unfortunately, breakfast the next morning was not so good. The service was again fab and the cold selection of continental breakfast was fairly good. The hot breakfast was pretty awful - congealed scrambled eggs, shoe leather like bacon and really poor quality sausages. It was lukewarm at best. Was a really disappointing end to a pretty underwhelming stay in what could be, with a few tweaks, an exceptional hotel.

Budget hotel in a gre location however a fair few down sides from a normal IHG hotel. Firstly cons No caffeine free tea available at all throughout a 5 day stay. Smell of the Indian drifts in to the room through out the night winch is not a pleasant smell and there are lots of banging pipes on the first floor through out the night. No bonus 500 points for not having house keeping in this does not keep with the environmental benefits of other IHG members. Pros central location and great friendly staff, hotel was clean and tidy. Oks Breakfast it’s hot and it’s included in the price I would say a great stay for a night or two if you are around reading wouldn’t stay for a week again.

Good central location close to a variety of restaurants and the station. Small, tight car park but permits available for a nearly multi-storey. Rooms comfortable and air conditioning working! But what makes this hotel stand out is the warmth and friendliness of all the staff. They work hard and deserve to succeed.

Great location in the centre of Reading. Clean establishment with friendly, helpful staff. Car parking available at an extra charge (it's tight but manageable in a big car). Does the job perfectly. Only downside-no lifts.

Previously an IBIS hotel but recently opened as a new member of IHG hotels and is fresh but basic. Room was clean but not particularly big for a king. The restaurant serves Indian food and was first class for an evening meal and very good value. Breakfast was booked and s as though not cheap the expectation was driven by stays in other IHG hotels. The breakfast did not live up to expectation and the second morning without any notice being given there was no full English just a poor selection of continental and cereals. Botha morning there were ants marching around the hot drink dispenser and although staff were advised and they cleaned surfaces the ants returned and no further action was taken. There were many ants and one was freshly dispensed into a coffee.

This is a very new hotel, a rebuild inside an old building and was only open a couple of weeks when I went there for a one-nighter on business. Room was not too large, but was as neat and new-smelling as you would expect from a freshly-opened hotel. I would describe it as a Holiday Inn Express but up a bit... Room was well-equipped but plain, which was no problem. Desk for working on a laptop was very cramped, but sufficed. The main sticking point for me was the breakfast. I booked a single for one night on my company....and then separately booked a private-visit two nights with my wife driving down for the weekend. Online I noticed the breakfast was the same for both in terms of costs. When I checked in I was given the chance to add breakfast to my bill, and queried that breakfast for one was £20 - expensive! - but for two, it was.....£20. Understandably after the first night I went out for breakfast, but took it for the next two nights when my wife had arrived. They need to sort that one out. Otherwise, I would have no problem in using the hotel again.
