Planet B
"I had a really relaxing stay at Planet B – The staff were friendly and helpful, & the included breakfast (eggs, pancakes, and fruit) was delicious ! There are a few hammocks to chill out in, & I appreciated the gym/yoga area upstairs. The location is convenient, with a bus stop close by that made getting to the beach easy and hassle-free. I also saw some wildlife in the backyard:)"
Hotel Manuel Antonio
"A very nice room with a balcony overlooking the sea. On-site dining is available, and Manuel Antonio Park is a 3-minute walk away. The hotel overlooks a very pleasant beach. Buses from San José stop right outside the hotel at the "La Playa" stop. Numerous buses connect the hotel to Quipos for 380 colones or 1 dollar."
Mountain Top Park Hotel
"I have to say, this hotel really captivated me. I didn't want to leave the Mountain Top Park Hotel at all, and it was actually quite difficult on the last day. First, about the room: I had a room with a mountain view (I think a sea view costs extra, but you don't really need it because the mountain view is truly stunning). It was indescribably beautiful to wake up to such a view every morning. During my stay, I also saw many birds like toucans, eagles, and macaws flying over the treetops. As you've probably already read, there are an incredible number of free-roaming animals on the large hotel grounds (the hotel is practically located in a piece of rainforest). I saw more animals here than in Manuel Antonio National Park, such as sloths and monkeys (on the last day, we even spotted a sloth with its baby). Definitely take the free morning tour with a guide. It's really great to walk across the suspension bridges and look out for animals. The staff is SUPERB. The rooms are clean and modern (they're just a little noisy, but that's not a problem with earplugs). So all in all, it was an unforgettable stay and I don't regret a single penny :) PS: Definitely take the golf cart from reception to the hotel; it's too strenuous to walk up."
