El Faro Containers Beach Hotel

We actually drove to Manuel Antonio with booking a room and just drove around and decided to go back to and stay with El Faro Container Beach Hotel. We stayed with them 2 years and enjoyed our stay then so why not stay where we already knew what we were getting. This time we stayed in the bottom containers with a perfect view of the pool and the beach! The rooms are pretty basic but honestly they are clean and dependable. You have a A/C that works perfect..your smart tv for watching your fave shows before you go to sleep. A shower with warm and cold water. Clean sheets and towels. What else can you ask for? The walk or drive is pretty steep but actually fun! You don’t think you can make it but you really can..or they have a golf cart as well to take you up there. Breakfast comes with your stay normally and it’s perfect. Now..the only thing you got to watch out for is the howler monkeys that want to come have your breakfast! Adorable! Oh and did I say that your actually 1 min walk to the Manuel Antonio Park?! And you also have free parking. Again, what else can you ask for? Bring good walking Sandler like tevas and your good to go. The beach is also a 3-5 min walk. Also, lastly, the staff is super nice from front desk, to guys on golf carts, to wait staff in restaurant, cleaning ladies and maintenance. All super polite and helpful. Stay..you’ll thank me!

The location of this hotel is perfect—right by the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park with some of the best ocean views you can find. The reception staff was friendly and welcoming, which made check-in pleasant. Unfortunately, other aspects of the stay did not meet expectations. The restaurant staff was not friendly, which made dining uncomfortable. Housekeeping was also very poor: the sheets were never changed once during the entire stay, and the the toilet was never cleaned. Shampoo never filled. The last night of our stay the air conditioner stopped working. We did not bother to tell them. Overall, this hotel has a lot of potential because of its prime location and stunning views, but the service and cleanliness need serious improvement.

The service was excellent—staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt welcome throughout our stay. The food was another highlight. The location couldn’t be more convenient, perfect for getting around and exploring nearby attractions. Daily room service was a great touch, keeping the space tidy and comfortable. However, the room lacked basic toiletries such as soap, bar shampoo, and lotion. Also, while the room was very clean, they are dated. A renovation in the rooms would really elevate the overall experience and match the quality of the service.
