Beautiful location. Would definitely come again for another vac ation.

Our experience at Hyatt Ziva was fantastic. If you’re traveling with kids, I’d say it’s the best all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic for families. The water park was a huge hit, and the food was generally very good—especially by all-inclusive standards. From an adult perspective, there’s room for improvement in a few areas, but overall, it’s a great hotel. The room was spacious and consistently very clean.

Beautiful resort with lots of activities for kids, adults, good food, excellent service. Seaweed on beach but it’s all over the coastline right now. They have web netting up to kept critters out of the water. and it also helps keep the seaweed down . We mostly hung out at the pools so it did not affect us. They also do not tolerate tourist fighting. You fight you are out!

This was our second trip to Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana after an amazing vacation there last year. We didn't think that experience could be beaten, but we were wrong! We visited the week of July 15 to 22 and it was a truly exceptional stay. The level of service from staff was beyond our highest expectations. Our butler Elvis (we were club level guests) was super attentive to our requests and helped make the entire week run smoothly. Special shout outs to Sebastian (foods manager), Patricio (Waves manager), Grey (hostess at Chinola), Jaime (Chinola manager) and a long list of servers/wait staff...Jose, Luis, Raul, Jonathan...and especially Clara around the pool! The care these staff members showed was incredible - so sincere in their efforts to ensure we had a great week. The quality of food was outstanding across the board - especially for our anniversary dinner at Waves (we ditched the kids for an evening). That goes down as one of the best meals we've ever had...anywhere!!!! Noodle and Thread...amazing! Chinola for lunch...amazing! Tempest for hibachi OR sushi...amazing! Noticing a trend here? We also enjoyed the buffet for breakfast and really appreciated the resort's efforts to maintain good hygiene as food is behind glass and served to you. Morning coffees from Coffee Republic were a great way to jump start the day...like having your own Starbucks barista on resort! Highly recommend getting yourself a cocktail from Twisted Timbers in the lobby or the Grog Grotto Rum Bar outside the restaurants, btw! These are NOT rushed, pre-mixed drinks. The bartenders take time and care to provide top quality drinks! Travelled with our 2 kids (12 and 13) who both LOVE this resort and can't wait to return in the future. The waterpark is a nice break from the main pools, but can get a bit hot as it's blocked from the lovely ocean breezes that manage to keep the resort feeling cooler than you might expect during summer in the Caribbean. Only downside was the amount of sargassum in the water the week we were there. The staff do their best to keep it clear and the beach itself was beautiful...just the water was pretty murky (and we know this is a widespread issue this time of year). The outer barrier does help, but don't expect crystal clear water if you're going in the summer. No biggee for us as we're more pool people...and the main pool at Ziva is fantastic for families. Pros: The property is absolutely beautiful, and the spa experience was truly amazing. The coffee cafes serve excellent coffee, and the pool bartenders were friendly and attentive—definitely worth tipping, as it goes a long way at the resort. My butler was helpful, though I often had to initiate contact. Cons: Housekeeping was disappointing; my room was poorly cleaned and only serviced after 6 PM each day. The food was underwhelming—the breakfast buffet lacked options for non-pork eaters, and room service was extremely slow. Overall: I would consider returning, but only if there were a non-all-inclusive option available.
