We just got back from our stay at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana and honestly, it was beyond anything we expected. The resort itself is beautiful but what really made the trip unforgettable was the people who work there. Right from the start, Christian Reyes, the Head Sommelier, stood out. Even before we arrived he was already helping us and once we were there, he constantly went out of his way to check on us. He really cares about what he does and about the guests, and it shows. We had so many great conversations with him and by the end of the trip, he felt more like a friend than just staff. At the Kids Club, Yaya was the absolute best. Our kids adored her… they’d run straight to her every morning with huge smiles. She treated them like family, and as parents, that kind of trust and care is priceless. Poolside, Jose was hands down the best server we’ve ever had anywhere. He didn’t just bring us drinks — he genuinely connected with us, even sharing stories about his little boy. That personal touch made the experience so much better. That same service was given to us every morning at the Mercado by Melvin (I believe that’s his name). His area is right when first walk in and to the left. He was amazing and always greeted us with a huge smile. Our butler, Raquel was also amazing. She made sure every detail was taken care of and really helped make our stay stress free. We also met Darling Mendez, the Director of Room Division, who took the time to personally check in on us. Her hospitality made us feel so welcomed. She went above and beyond to make sure we felt and were treated like royalty. I can’t say enough about her, we love her and her infectious smile!!! And honestly, all of this is a reflection of the leadership of General Manager Pedro Tomas. You can tell the staff love what they do and care deeply about the guests. Even the small gesture of staff placing a hand over their heart when they pass you made us feel special. He is by far one of the best leaders I’ve ever seen. Anyone we spoke to, was beyond happy to be working for such an incredible human being who puts people first. Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana isn’t just a beautiful resort, it’s a place where the staff make you feel like family. We left with full hearts and can’t wait to come back for a 3rd time!
