To be the first day in the hotel, the truth is that the stay has not been very pleasant. The food at the sport bar is disappointing Communication from the room to the front desk, to the room service or to any of the other options that they give you on the website is a disaster. I was trying to talk to the front desk for more than half an hour to fix the key that didn't work and they never answered me or called me back. For the first day, the experience is a little strange. Hope the rest of the week gets better.

At Serenade All Suites in Punta Cana, the Market buffet itself is solid—the food is fresh, the cooks are friendly, and they do a great job. But the way some of the staff and management interact with guests is different depending on who you are. White/Caucasian tourists get extra praise, attention, and respect, while others like me and my girl felt nitpicked or questioned unnecessarily (like being asked “what room are you in” too much). It’s disappointing, because the hospitality should feel equal for everyone, not just certain groups. Not everyone rich and if we could spare we will

I’m currently on my last night of a one-week stay at Hotel Serenada Adults Only Punta Cana, and I feel compelled to warn others: don’t waste your money here. While the hotel grounds themselves look nice and well-maintained, the service is downright terrible. Almost every staff interaction felt like we were inconveniencing them. The employees seem uninterested, unmotivated, and in some cases, outright rude. It’s baffling how a so-called 5-star resort can offer service this poor across the board. It’s like the entire team is running on autopilot – no warmth, no care, no effort. The food? Completely average at best. Nothing stands out, and definitely nothing justifies the price or 5-star rating. If you’re expecting culinary excellence or even just decent variety and flavor, you’ll be disappointed. The beach is another huge letdown. It's full of sargassum and barely cleaned. Obviously sargassum is not intrinsically hotel fault. However I've stayed at other resorts in the area where the beach is cleaned early every morning and kept pristine – not here. It’s unpleasant and shows a lack of attention to guest experience. This place markets itself as a luxury, adults-only escape, but it’s far from it. The atmosphere is dull, the value is poor, and unless you’re just here to sit by a pool and lower your expectations, you’re better off spending your money elsewhere. Bottom line: Looks decent on the outside, but that’s where the charm ends. Do yourself a favor and choose another hotel. This one is a massive disappointment.

Let's start with the lowlights: the entertainment is excellent, the food is very good and varied, and some waiters—including the restaurant manager—along with the lobby bartenders deserve recognition. I wish all the staff would follow their example. Everything else was a disaster. The pools, including the swim-up pool, were filthy and were only cleaned after repeated requests, because they're not the type to do so. The excess chlorine was so high that it ruined swimsuits and, if you had bleached hair, it turned it green. The reception was, without exaggeration, one of the worst I've ever seen: dry, rude, and unhelpful. Room service was chaotic: many orders didn't arrive, and when I complained, the response was "we'll be closed at 10:00 PM," when their website says it's available until that time. The feeling is that the staff are covering for each other to avoid responsibility. Eating in the restaurants was a nightmare: none of them have air conditioning, so eating means sweating. And the root of the problem is clear: management. According to several employees, the poor atmosphere leads some to deliberately act badly so the hotel receives bad reviews and the management is replaced. The result is that we, the guests, are the ones who suffer the consequences. Furthermore, we booked this trip several months ago with included access to all drinks and pools. But a month before, the "elite service" was created and restricted those benefits, preventing us from using them. The agency confirmed that, according to the contract, we were entitled to them and recommended we file a complaint. Checkout day was the icing on the cake: as soon as you check out of your room, you are forced to wait in the lobby, without air conditioning, until your shuttle arrives. If your flight is late, like ours, you are allowed to go to eat, but afterward you return to that stifling lobby. You cannot consume anything else at the bar or use the pool, even if you paid for an all-inclusive package, until the end of your stay. The hotel's top management is a bunch of creeps. When we complained about room service, a manager "compensated" us with a supposed late checkout. In reality, what he gave us was a document we had to sign to release the hotel from all liability, which would have meant we'd lost the compensation we were claiming from the agency for not receiving the contracted service.

We had high expectations for this resort. We were three couples, and we chose an adults-only hotel for the first time. The infrastructure is beautiful; it's a relatively new hotel, but they're failing in areas that are important for a tourist who comes here to enjoy and relax. First, the sargassum issue. I know this issue is beyond the hotel's control, however, we wrote a month before to find out how complex the situation really was—not because we would cancel our reservation, but to lower our expectations and be prepared—and we received no response. Our surprise was terrible when we arrived and not only was the sargassum accumulated so much at the ends closest to the hotel's beach, but it was also rotting, emitting a horrendous odor. I believe, without being an expert, that the blockage they have at the bottom of the sea, apart from not stopping its entry, causes the water to stagnate and become dark and smelly. Second, with a few exceptions like the receptionists, the guys who help with luggage, the girls who greet us at each buffet, Marco and Abigail at the bar, Estevan, Jesus, and Rom at the Koi restaurant (which was the best à la carte), they don't display a very friendly or attentive attitude when you order from them. They simply don't serve you, they take forever, or they do it with a bad attitude, and finally, to "not bother" you, you end up serving yourself. The worst restaurant, the steakhouse (I think it was called "Braseria"), had dishes on the menu that they didn't have or preparations that weren't what they said (truffled potatoes were just regular fries, the lobster bisque could have been any soup, etc.). Although upon our arrival they told us that the minibar was restocked daily, after 3 days of not doing so, we had to go to reception to ask them to do it and to replace the bath towels, which they also weren't doing. The cleanliness of the largest pool wasn't impeccable either; there was a lot of tangled hair, and on some days it was even somewhat cloudy. On the second-to-last day, we learned that kayaks were free, and only then were we able to get away a bit and find some clear waters in the sea so we could enjoy the beautiful, sargassum-free sea they have. It's a quiet hotel with little entertainment, and everything closes early. In fact, if you're on the terrace around 11:30 p.m., all the lights go out, and you have no choice but to go back to your room or go to the family hotel where it's busier. The good thing was that it wasn't that crowded, so you always find free lounge chairs, and the buffets are never overcrowded and are constantly restocked. Occasionally, while the food is good, there's bread, seafood, or fruit that isn't fresh enough. One day, I asked for gluten-free bread, and 30 minutes later, they brought me stale bread that looked like it had been soaked and heated. Some of the fruit tasted a bit vinegary. The sports bar isn't good if you want to go at night. While it's known to be "fast food," it's not of good quality. In short, it's up to you whether the food is

This hotel is a 3 star hotel at best. The room itself was starting to show wear and tear. The TV did not work well nor the air conditioning. The smell outside of your room was terrible. The food was OK. The pools and the beach are the only things that would draw people to this resort. Asked for a wakeup call in the morning of my flight. Never received one. This resort was not worth the money I spent for three days. Would not stay here again. I only picked this resort for the positive reviews it got from six months ago, but I can see why now recently it's getting so many bad reviews. If I ever go to Punta Cana again will go someplace else.
