VH - Gran Ventana Beach Resort Reviews

I just finished my stay at the Gran Ventana Resort, and while there were some nice things, overall I had a very poor experience and they run a scam operation, use caution when booking this resort. Immediately upon my arrival I attempted to check in and was told that my fiancé was not allowed to stay in the resort with my booking. She is from the Dominican Republic and according to Gran Ventana my booking was for foreigners only. They proceeded to charge me 40% more than my original booking, only because I was with my fiancé who is Dominican. I was planning on meeting with a wedding coordinator and exploring my options about having a wedding at this location in the near future, however any chance of this was immediately erased when they scammed me. No where in the booking was this ever explained and I advise using extreme caution when both booking on Trip.com and booking at the Gran Ventana Resort. I would love for a representative or a manger to reach out to me.

The hotel is overrated. The food was not as good as our previous visit two years ago. Coffee is not good either. The infrastructure was good, but the service was just ok. The most unpleasant thing is their discrimination if you are Dominican and you use this page to book a stay. They charged us US$50 per person per night over the price listed here. If you are a foreign customer is ok to pay what Trip says would be the rate. It's unbelievable!

Everything about our stay there was excellent. The only thing that would have made it perfect is if coffee was available maybe an hour earlier. Or maybe coffee available in our rooms to tide us over until they were ready to serve it. I was very impressed with how they had multiple daily entertainment for everyone in the family. The location is perfect if you are looking to go on excursions....we did 5 days worth of excursions and had the most amazing time. I highly recommend the VIP package at Ocean World !!! I really don't know how I'm going to top this vacation !!!

The trip.com reservation was not valid when I arrived at the hotel and they charged me again the day I left, so trip still hasn't refunded me the money for my invalid reservation.

The hotel is good and clean and good quality and food 👌 and clean and nice and beautiful pool I recommend it

I stayed in this hotel 10 years ago and it was pretty good. I was so disappointed this time. The facilities are old, the hygiene is not good, the service is also bad, the air conditioner is like a train passing by when it starts, and I can't sleep... Thanks to Ctrip for coordinating the cancellation of the room on the second day. Friends, choose other hotels 😂

It is a more family-oriented hotel, quiet without much fuss, the staff is very friendly, the food is good and so is the restaurant.

Excellent preparation. The staff was very kind, friendly, helpful, the varieties of food were very nice and excellent, everything was very nice, the restaurant was very clean, the rooms were very clean, the entire pool, the warm water was the best for me.
