One of the best onsen I must say. It’s very very near Shirahige Falls about 5 minutes walk in thick snow. But there aren’t any convenient shops or restaurants within reach. I guess you’ll need to drive. Limited public bus to reach the resort and it costs 660 yen. If you missed then you’ll need to get a taxi which cost about 8000 yen. We took the day trip around Biei which cost about 5500 per person to 8 locations around Biei and the last location you guess it right, it’s Shirahige fall. The tour bus driver very kind to drop us at the onsen resort They served the best saisaki and breakfast. Be sure to get your stomach empty before you reach the premise for the dinner.

The hotel staff are polite, the food is excellent, and the environment is good . It would be best if you can stay for a few days.

This stay has been the most amazing experience. The rooms with private Onsen bath were spacious and very tastefully decorated. And the dinner was the best we had in Japan so far, Michelin star quality. Expensive but absolutely worth it!

Beautiful place to stay :) Loved most of features!! As this ryokan is located near to sirogane falls(3mins walk) and blue pond(4mins drive), you have to make the most out of it! Please visit Blue pond in night time, you will see the best night lighting show !!

The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to Otaru attractions. The rooms are clean and pretty spacious. Staff are very friendly and helpful with our queries regarding parking and the eateries around the hotel. Strongly recommended.

Avoid! After lying on the bed for an hour, I started to itch all over, and several big lumps appeared, like insect bites. I took two baths and soaked in a hot spring, but new lumps kept appearing. I asked the staff to change the sheets but was refused, saying that I could only change them myself... Not only did they not provide medicine to treat insect bites, but they also said that they could only provide disinfectant. . Only after the second strong request did they send two elderly male service staff to change the new sheets. The front desk guy's ability to express himself was extremely poor. He couldn't understand English. He had to use a menu that was written inexplicably to introduce the dinner included in the room rate in English. Three people used Chinese, English and Japanese translators to speak and gesture. After more than ten minutes, I still didn't understand what it meant. I thought that dinner only provided a piece of beef and a bowl of soba noodles. In the end, the dinner was inexplicably upgraded. As a result, the dinner menu was actually very long and there was no need to upgrade. The heating in the room and the bathroom was manually adjusted. The temperature was not very high for a long time. Compared with other hotels, the room was much colder. I had to wear a sweater or cover myself with a quilt in the room all the time (which was why I started to itch all over).

I was very touched by this hot spring hotel. There is a group of people who run the hotel very attentively. There are two booklets in the room that introduce the history of the hotel and the surrounding attractions. There are handwritten books in them, which is really rare. Breakfast and dinner are great. The various boxes and tableware are very beautiful. The service attitude is very good. The first picture is the floor plan of the room. The apartment we live in is equivalent to a townhouse. The building next to it is a two-story building. The first floor also has a private bath, which should be smaller. The second floor should not have a private bath. We are 2 adults and 2 children. At first, we booked a room for 4 people. It was very expensive to book like that because Ctrip will directly give you the price of breakfast and dinner for 4 people. The 2 children will also be charged at the price of 2 adults, that is, the meals and beds are arranged for you the same as for adults. Later, I contacted Ctrip customer service to help me consult the hotel. First, confirm which room type can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children, then place an order for 2 large children first, and then let Ctrip note the hotel to supplement the price of 2 children on site. I paid 3,300 yen/1 child on site, and then ordered a hot pot for 6,600 for the child for dinner. Breakfast was eaten with adults. Drinks and staple foods were provided, and the side dishes were shared with adults. It's pretty good. There's the Shirahige Falls around it. It's very beautiful. Kiyotaki Pond is nearby so just go and have a look. Special reminder: when driving into Kiyotaki Pond, please note that there are two entrances for large and small cars. Don't go the wrong way because it costs 2,000 yen to enter from the large car entrance and 500 yen for small cars.

The most satisfactory hotel in this Hokkaido trip. The service is particularly good. The environment is very beautiful. Especially the room comes with a private bath. I am very satisfied. I will go there again next time.

Excellent facility! We were warmly welcomed and helped with our luggage both for check in and check out and this is not something to be taken for granted, since it has happened to us very few times even in luxury facilities, so hats off! Wonderful location, surrounded by nature with the forest in part very suggestive. Entire facility and room very clean and well renovated in typical Japanese style with tatami, bamboo and many details of handcrafted wood work. Both public and private onsen (we had it in the room, outdoors directly on the snowy forest) dreamy; one of the most beautiful we have seen so far (we have already seen several always private and outdoors). The atmosphere you breathe is very intimate and familiar, it makes you feel at ease and pampered. Breakfast and dinner 7 out of 10, good but not excellent. The only negative note is the rigidity (typical of many Japanese) on the strict respect of the times: if you do not arrive on time for dinner and do not notify, you will not eat even if you have already paid for it, for the check out be careful because you will have to pay a supplement that will increase for every 10 minutes of delay. But, if you strictly adhere to their rules (as we did) you will have no problems and you will live a dream stay, even if a little stressful for us Italians with the impositions of the times especially. Overall, highly recommended!

This is not my first time staying in a high-end hotel, and I have high expectations for this hotel. Let me start by saying that the hot springs and food are both good. Most of the service was good, but there were a few things that made me unhappy. All you want to do when traveling is happiness, so anything that causes displeasure will stand out. There was an oil film and moss-like floating objects on the hot spring in the room. We thought it was sebum garbage left by the previous guest, and we were shocked. I went to the front desk to ask and learned that this was the ingredient of the hot spring. I asked again what the ingredient was? The other party didn't say sorry or explain to us at first, and he didn't mean to reassure us. He just said "hot spring ingredients" dryly. I understand Japanese, so I asked again, is it "花花"? The other party repeated what I said. The problem was that no other indoor hot springs I had ever bathed in had anything like this. However, the other party was dry and didn't want to explain at all. I think this is very unprofessional as a hotel employee. Even if you don’t know, can’t you empathize with the guests’ fright and confusion? During dinner in the evening, there was a table of Japanese guests sitting next to me. They gave gifts to the waiters and chefs one by one. I didn’t pay attention and didn’t know what they gave. I didn’t feel very good at that time. I was asked to eat. I felt a little uncomfortable at the time, and I always felt that they should do this kind of thing in private, or not accept the gift in principle, instead of doing it "showing off" in front of other guests. Although it is reasonable for hotels to accept gifts, doing it next to me while I was eating made me feel unprofessional. This is a public place, not a place to visit relatives. The most annoying thing was that the next morning, my family and I had no problem chatting while eating, but then the two Japanese guests from last night sat next to me. After that, when the waiter was serving the food, he came over and said to us, "Please speak softly." I didn't react at the time and didn't refute. People sometimes don't notice how loud they speak, but I thought something was wrong. We were really talking. There are no loud noises, and there are no noisy children, but they still have to be disciplined when they speak in a normal voice? What's even more disgusting is that the two Japanese guests next to me were talking loudly! Later, we were listening to the voices next door the whole time! Thinking about yesterday's gift-giving incident, I always felt that I was treated differently by the waiter, which made me very unhappy. There are hot springs of the same quality elsewhere. I am not in the mood to go back to a hotel that left such an impression. Good luck to those who are going.

This is the best hotel among the four hotels I stayed in during my visit to Japan. The dinner was very rich and exquisite. The most important thing is that the price is really very good. You can see heavy snow in early December.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was romantic. We also recommend a visit to the open-air bath in the large communal bath, even for guests with private bathrooms. Also, their service spirit is incredible. They take care of it with such care that the recipient feels sorry. I definitely recommend a visit when traveling to the Biei area. Lastly, we recommend renting a car and visiting Whitebeard Falls on foot as it is very close (3 minutes away) from the ryokan.
