Michie House in College Hill Reviews

I should have read the reviews before booking this. I arrived on 10/21 and there was no sign outside and no street number. I found a doorway that looked possible, and rang the buzzer but no answer. Fortunately, a young man came up the steps from the sidewalk and said that in order to get in I should have gotten an email with instructions, which I had not received. He let me in with him, and there was a dismal flight of stairs. There was, however, no staff at all on the premises. He gave me a phone number, and I was able to speak with a man who said I had to have the instructions in the email. He tried sending me emails and texts, and finally I was able to get the text. He did assign me a room and give me the passcodes to the room door and the downstairs entry door. When I checked the room, it was obvious that the sheets had not been changed from the previous user, since there were hairs and dirt on them. I called him back and he offered me another room - same, only worse. I refused to stay, and insisted on a refund, which I have not yet received [they said it would take 7 to 10 business days]. Disgusting!

Very bad stay, the quilts are smelly, the air conditioner can't be adjusted, the public bathroom, one is broken, the water in one is very poor. You can't stay in this place, it's too bad

Self-service check-in, no staff and no security measures, the environment is relatively simple.. The room door only has a smart lock, which doesn't look very safe.. The room is quite bright, looks tidy but is not very clean.. Two small bugs crawled on the bed one night, and a black thing fell into the quilt. I don't know what it was, so I didn't dare to look.. I spent the night on the stool.. I suggest that if you are not homeless, don't stay..

The room is similar to a university dormitory. Although it is not large, it is very cost-effective and has good sanitary conditions. The only problem is that the air-conditioning and other facilities are a bit simple. There are public bathrooms for washing; the hotel is very close to Brown University, making it convenient for traveling.
