Cozy small hotel with convenient location, please note there is no fridge in the room, otherwise quiet nice stay!

This “boutique” hotel was NOT inexpensive. The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately the building itself lacked everything needed for a comfortable stay. The room was so dark it was impossible to read. There was no room for two people to place toiletries in the bathroom. There was no closet or dresser, so if one is staying for more than one night it would be difficult to store clothing. There were exactly two hooks on the wall and four hangers! Worst of all….. the mattress was so uncomfortably soft that my husband slept sitting up on a hard chair. Perhaps some would find this hotel charming, ……not us.

This was a late booking (a week before) and wanted to be central. It was in the middle of a rebrand so was a little tricky to find as outside it says The Dean. Parking was in an adjacent city lot ($40 with hotel). Hotel is small with a cool vibe. The check in guy was helpful and helped us navigate the old fashioned lift. There is a lobby area with a coffee shop but this was only open for a couple of hours in the morning and just serves coffee. The bar was being refurbished and looked very cool. The place has a history and you definitely get a vibe! The room was a very pleasant surprise - modern, clean design with thought to the style. Great bathroom and shower. All in all an interesting discovery if you want to be downtown.

This place has interesting room design and I loved the tile-work in the bathroom and old-style decorative incandescent lighting. The rooms are small but all I need is a bed and a bathroom so it's perfect for me.

We were looking for a hotel a short distance from Gillette Stadium. The Dean is about 35 minutes away. It’s located in a very walkable area near Roger Williams University, RISD, Brown, and Johnson & Wales. The people were friendly and helpful especially Dylan. It’s a very old property. The “lift” requires muscle to get the gate open. It’s only large enough for 2 people and only goes to the fourth floor. We were room 502 so we had to lug our bags up another flight of stairs. The room was spacious with a king bed on one side and sitting area with TV on the other. The TV was difficult to watch from bed. The air conditioner combo heater was very loud. In fact, when it came on, it sounded like someone was trying to break into the room. The bathroom was small. The shower was so small that I felt like I was in a coffin with the black tile and shower curtain. The pressure was good in the shower with a waterfall shower head. I had no room to raise my arms to wash my hair. The products provided in the bathroom- hand soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all good. There’s a pay parking lot next to the hotel.

I only spent a few days at this hotel and I wish I had done longer. The front desk staff were so efficient and helpful, joked around and made me feel instantly welcomed - which is huge when solo travelling like me. The lobby area has a great, relaxed vibe with a cafe and areas to work. The elevator is rustic and cool. My room was immaculate so props to the housekeeping team! There’s ample room to hang up clothes, a desk area, tv, comfortable bed, and an amazing black-tiled bathroom with a large walk in shower. The only negative I could think of is that the water pressure was quite intense and there was no way to adjust. The WiFi wasn’t the best unfortunately, not sure if that’s just in my room or throughout the hotel. Overall a fantastic stay, very much hoping to stay here again the next time I come to Providence.

Lovely little hotel! Beautiful and hip without being excessive. Absolutely no complaints. Would love to go back.
