Stayed in room 3. Only a small window because they converted a larger room into two rooms. No air circulation given the one window that only opens 3 or 4 inches restricted by a wire. At 2.00am had to open the door to the corridor to get some fresh air and left it open for the rest of the night. Would have been better to sleep in the corridor instead. Can’t comment on other rooms but needless to say will not be going back and if you do decide to book avoid room 3. Weather Temperature at the time was high teens anything in mid 20’s or above? I hate to say what could happen. On the photo it’s the window on the right that is room 3 the other two windows belong to another room.

We chose this venue because we were riding the national cycle route 2 from Southampton to Weymouth, and this was basically in the middle. We booked the family room as it was the largest room, and it was a good job we did as when booking the room, we were told that there was secure storage for bikes, however, upon arrival, we were told that was not the case. We were allowed to take our bikes up to our room, which we were pleased about. After visiting Sandbanks beach, we went back to the pub and had a delicious burger! Then we went to our room. I was so pleased to see a bath there, which was needed after a days cycling, and the shower was great, very powerful and the water was hot. The bed was actually 2 beds pushed together but it wasn't an issue - they didn't separate and made one huge super comfy bed! Being above a pub, there was some noise from people smoking outside, and the nightlights came on which made the room really bright, but aside from that I had a great nights sleep! There was a wide range of breakfast items from continental to a fry up, and it was really tasty. The staff were so friendly and helpful too. I would recommend this pub and would definitely come back.

In the context of this costing £55 for the night then this little place is exceptional. Handy location (we were catching ferry and is only 10 minutes to port), nice room (not ultra modern but who expects that in a pub?), great staff (very friendly!), super breakfast included, nice extras in room (bottled water, biscuits, Dove shower gel), great value pub food. The two (exceptionally minor!) downsides were no parking free when we arrived but we just moved the car into a space later in the evening and there was no filter coffee at breakfast. All in all a great place for a night or two!
