We taking a weekend break in Pitlochry with my wife and 2 other couples. We had booked into this hotel and were booked in from Friday the 6th and 7th of June. We arrived on Friday afternoon and parked in he hotel car park. It was before check in time and the staff asked us to register our car with their car park control system. They were very welcoming and pleasant and explained that our rooms were still being prepared. That was all very easy. We returned later to complete booking in a walk round Pitlochry Main St. The staff had booked us all into adjacent rooms on the first floor. We made our way up to them to find them very well appointed. Ours, though neat was very adequate. The rooms look to have been refurbished very recently,. The decor is very nice, a more than adequate wall mounted tv and tea and coffee facilities in the room. The bathroom, though again, neat was very nicely finished and had all the facilities you want, along with a good sized bath, hand and floor mat towels. The room sizes vary, our friends room was larger, but equally well laid out, with a sofa in it. A good night out in Perth left us ready for a hearty breakfast. Breakfast consisted of a good variety of cereals, fruit and yoghurt or pastries. As well as a hot choice of porridge or omelette or a full breakfast. Again the staff very friendly and accommodating, without being overbearing. After a good though wet day(its Scotland after all!), we returned to the hotel. We had booked a meal in town for that evening. The group felt, having been out in the rain all day the 8 - 10 minute walk down to town and then back up later, possibly getting wet again, wasn't for us for that evening. We talked to the manager about getting a table in the Cidsin Restaurant in the hotel. They were able to accommodate us and happy to do so. We came down later that evening for dinner. The manager talked to us about the food and style of Indian cooking that we would be experiencing. He built our hopes up and the food did not disappoint! We had a variety of food from the menu, chicken, lamb and vegetarian. All of us were very pleased and enjoyed the food. It was tasty without being hot for the sake of being hot. The sauces were rich and tasty and delicious mixed through the rice. A couple of deserts were enjoyed on top of this. The prices were very reasonable and the service was excellent. We then sat in the bar for a few after dinner drinks and the ladies enjoyed some cocktails, which were meticulously well prepared by the bar staff. Another fine breakfast on Sunday morning and with an 11am check out we were ready to go. If you are staying in Pitlorchy, this is an excellent choice. Its is pleasant , comfortable, reasonably priced and contains a hidden gem of a restaurant. If you don't chose to stay here, it will still be worth dropping in in the evening to try out their excellent Indian restaurant! We will be booking again and defiantly eating there again in the future.
