Pine Trees Hotel Pitlochry

Great hotel in many ways - lovely spaces, great staff but breakfast was not quite as good as hoped. Waited an hour for breakfast,  no gluten free toast arrived & the eggs Benedict’s GF toast was not delicious at all. I think there was a staff shortage. For a fairly expensive hotel this was disappointing.

This hotel has had an extensive and tasteful refurbishment. All very comfortable , good breakfast and very pleasant staff. We stayed in the coach house which was excellent. Lovely grounds within walking distance of the town centre, Would recommend.

We recently stayed for our “minimoon” and I wanted to love this hotel, and had very high hopes from all the reviews. It’s very close to what I think it wants to be. It just misses on a couple of points. The hotel is beautiful, can’t fault any of that or the facilities at all. Stunning location, handy for town, peaceful, thoughtfully done, I’d come back for the beauty alone The service and atmosphere just weren’t 100% for us. It doesn’t say anywhere on the website that it’s now part of a chain so I wanted to book a wine tasting event that was on and the phone number takes you to Apex who had no clue, then I had to speak to two people at the hotel, the last person was spot on and knew the score exactly but no handover each time of why I was phoning and it all felt a bit hard. I was disappointed that the first contact didn’t give a warm fuzzy feeling that we would be looked after. The service throughout our stay, whilst polite at all times, just felt chaotic. Lots of staff, many mistakes at most meals and many didn’t seem to know what was going on, not sure if seasonal or not. Frequently spoke to someone to be passed to someone else. Sat outside for drinks and depended who you got as to whether they followed up for more etc. Just meant it didn’t have a lovely warm atmosphere. We love sitting in the bars of these kinds of hotels and working our way through the cocktail list but we didn’t do it once here, straight back to room after dinner. If someone was inviting people to do that and creating the warmth then we would have. A few staff were great, don’t get me wrong (including the managers daughter), and all were polite and professional. They just seemed lost. It’s all easily fixed, I rarely write reviews; I’m doing this because I genuinely hope they can take feedback constructively and get over that final hurdle because it would be spectacular!

Ww went with the Guthrie Clan group ( 30 people). The place was beautiful. There were many areas just to sit and relax and the grounds were beautiful. You would need a car to get to town, but there is no need as the food was wonderful. They made dinner a great experience, setting up tables with 4 seats so people could sit and visit. Dinner service was great, but there didn't seem to be enough help for breakfast, very slow. Loved the snack table upstairs.

Excellent hotel. Nothing to fault at all. Rooms lovely as was food and wine. Many thanks to Paul for his excellent service on my partners birthday. Above and beyond. A wonderful stay.Thanks again.I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone. Will be back.

The best hotel and service in a long time. And they love dogs. Tucked away , this hidden refurbished Scandi style jewel is not To be missed.
