Relais Dei Mercanti B&B and Suites

What a nice place to stay in central Pisa! It doesn't look much from outside, but as soon as you pass through the front door you find that you're in a quiet cool oasis (note: there is quite a long flight of stairs up to the rooms - no lift - so not great for those with mobility issues). Our room was spacious and comfortable and, despite overlooking a small square with restaurants, very quiet at night (there's quad-glazing on the window). You can order breakfast, or just enjoy the snacks left for us in the room. There's a microwave and drink making set-up in the lounge which was very handy. The owners are friendly and helpful and were happy for us to leave our luggage for a few hours on the last day. Staff are on site only in the mornings, and initially we were a bit sceptical about the entry/check in process (done with a QR code online), but it all worked flawlessly. We would happily stay here again if we visit Pisa in the future :-)

I've stayed a mid-week in the hotel together with my two kids. We've had a room that was spacious enough for the three of us! It's a small hotel with 6 rooms and is located on a lovely square in the city centre of Pisa. The room was pleasant and with comfortable beds. The room has double windows and is well isolated; so we weren't bothered by the noise at night. Since we've booked through the hotel's website, breakfast was included. The neighborhood is safe and close to plenty of good, affordable restaurants. Since Pisa is very small, all sights are within walking distance (e.g. tower 10 min, train station 15 min). It's about a 10km walk to see the main sights of the city Pisa is also an excellent city to discover Tuscany. Lucca is a 30 min ride, while Florence is about 60 min away with the train. Cinque Terre is also within reach, but will take you 1,5hr bij train. We would definitely stay again at this hotel! And a perfect place to discover the beauty of Tuscany!

Great stay here - been to Pisa several times but first time at this b&b. The hosts were very responsive and instructions to enter the property on arrival were easy to follow. When we opened the front door I noticed that it smelt so clean! We entered our room which was really spacious and clean - the room was cleaned every day and toiletries were replenished/towels changed daily. We were left pastries, fruit, yoghurt & drinks every day which was a lovely touch. We had a balcony which overlooked the square - on the Saturday night it was very lovely outside and I was expecting to be kept awake all night but as soon as we closed the balcony door it was silent! I couldn’t believe how quiet it was! The location is spot on - very central! On our way home we had to be at the airport at 0815hrs so I asked Assunta the host to call us a taxi - Assunta responded straight away and the taxi came on time the next morning. I travel extensively and always wrote honest reviews - I will definitely recommend the Relais Dei Mercanti and would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you so much for a great stay!

We stayed here one night only. The room was lovely, spacious and very clean. The location was very good also, there was lots going outside on a Friday night. It is a completely contactless experience, we were sent a code to access the building on the day we travelled and breakfast items were in the room when we arrived. There was a selection of individually wrapped pastries and fruit and yoghurt in the fridge.
