Pingyao Hotels with Airport pickup service

Great place in Pingyao. It is reasonably priced, a bit out of the very center (meaning also out of tourists crowds that can be quite noisy in the evenings and mornings), but still close, has same old-style design as the more popular and well-established places that cater to foreigners, but priced twice as much. Pick-up and drop off service is provided - just contact the hotel in advance via phone using the reception of tour previous hotel - no one speaks English - it will solve your communication issue if you do not speak Chinese. At the place itself everyone is very eager to help - use your phone app to translate. Onwer helped me to buy tickets to Pingyao attractions and Terracota Army as I was heading to Xian next (available only through WeChat Pay that is in turn is not availablefor foreign tourists as of April 2023). If you go to Shuanglin temple, be sure to ask to buy tickets through WeChat for you as well. I was able to buy physical one by pure compassion of local guard who asked the staff to open ticket office just for me (Probably was the only foreigner in Pingyao at a time). Please also note that as of April 2023, the reconstruction works in the historical city parts are continuing, so, large chunks of the city within the walls are not looking as great as it could have been. The very center of the city is mostly untouched though and you can still come and explore. If going in spring, be prepared for the temperature swings. I got a temperature drop from 28C to 3C within 2 days by the moment I got to Pingyao. It was even snowing at night.

Really love the hotel’s a**osphere. It is cool both scenery and weather. There aren’t much noice and people around the hotel, a little walk and you will reach some of the tourist’s attraction. Some employees can speak english or if not, wechat is the best help. They also booked taxi and drop us off by the taxi, the service was wonderful. Will stay here again if there’s a chance of visiting.

This is a gorgeous hotel that is centrally-located inside the ancient city with great service. It’s like living in a museum! The hotel is housed in a thoughtfully renovated ancient college with a beautiful courtyard for chatting, eating, and chilling. The rooms are large, clean, and quiet. I really enjoyed the traditional mat style bed. The hotel is a short walk away from the bustling Main Street. It was very convenient to walk to most attractions inside the walled City. The hotel owner also arranged free transport to take me to the high speed rail station. The service was wonderful. No complaints! If you’re staying here, I recommend checking out not just the ancient walled city but also the ancient temples in the area. I would stay here again without hesitation.

The ancient city Pingyao and the Yundingxuan hotel blowed our mind. The hotel provide free pickup from the train station. We took the high speed train arrived at Pingyaocheng station which is around 15 minutes away from the ancient city. When you enter the city wall gate, you will be amazed of the narrow streets and cobblestone road. Picked Yundingxuan hotel because it was closed to the North gate so If the taxi was to dropped us off it’ll be a short walk but the driver dropped us off near the hotel because cars are not allowed within the main streets. The hotel is closed to 200 years old and have characteristics of the Ming and Qing dynasties. I was born in Vietnam, With roots to China but raised up in the US since I was 7 years old. I’ve seen Chinese movies but nothing will prepare you to the hotel and the ancient city. I was surprised how big the hotel complex was. All the staff were very nice, the main host spoke English, and the breakfasts were traditional Chinese breakfast. We stayed two nights and we felt safe throughout our visit. My wife and daughter appreciated the three hotel cats and all the felines throughout the city. I’m sure the other hotels are fantastic and will give your a unique experience but I can vouch for Yundingxuan. Just be prepared to get out your comfort zone but be amazed by the visual and taste of Pingyao Ancient City.

You can't drive into the ancient city, firstly because there are too many people, and secondly because the ancient city is full of small roads. When you arrive at Xiaonanmen, the hotel will send a sightseeing bus to pick you up, and you will be sent to Xiaonanmen after you check out. The front desk service is very enthusiastic, and basic needs can be met. For a small county town, Pingyao Xinghuiguan is a very large hotel. We booked a duplex family room with a large platform. The children added a quilt and rolled on it very happily. The front desk gave them handmade vinegar before leaving.

The room is not big, but it is very unique. It is a renovation of a historical building. The main thing is to feel the stay. The hotel is in the scenic area. The car needs to be parked in the large parking lot. If you don't have much luggage, you can walk to the hotel. If you have luggage, the hotel will send a small electric donkey to pick it up. I would like to mention the hotel's restaurant in particular. The decoration and dishes are very unique. It is a rare meal.

I took my kids out to play and stayed at Yunjincheng Mansion. It is a very good hotel. Before I came, the housekeeper Juaner contacted me and sent me some travel information. She was very considerate. She indicated the route on the day of check-in. In order to consider the traffic jam problem for the guests, she arranged staff to pick them up in advance. The journey was smooth. The staff took the luggage throughout the journey. I was very satisfied. The service is really the ceiling of the hotel. The room is clean and sanitary, the facilities are complete, and the dean is very unique. A vibrant hotel.

We are impressive for service and welcome drink. The location is good where located in the heart of ancient city. The room is clean, comfortable but the bed is a little hard. If i have chance to come back, I will choose this hotel. Recommend to you!!!

After driving from Beijing to Xi'an and back to Beijing, I was too tired to find a place to rest in Pingyao. I booked a hotel casually. It turned out to be unexpectedly good. The environment is very clean and the decoration in the style of the Republic of China is quite unique. The underground parking is very convenient. Next to it is the Pingyao Theater. A few steps away from the back door of the courtyard is the wall of Pingyao Ancient City. The night view is very beautiful. The breakfast is not very luxurious, but it basically has everything it should have, and it is also OK. I highly recommend the hotel I stayed in. The service attitude is super good. When I checked out, they also gave me the special Shanxi vinegar. When I left, I accidentally left Xiaobao's book. I communicated with him in time and mailed it back. I recommend it. Pingyao is really good now. I didn't have time to play this time. I will come next time.

The boss asked us to park at the Xiaonanmen parking lot and picked us up there. It was very close to the homestay, and it only took 5 minutes to walk there. There was also a fried cake vendor next to it. We bought it for breakfast the next day and it was delicious. We didn't buy a pass for the entire Pingyao Ancient City because we were already living in an ancient house. We specially chose a separate courtyard. Once the gate was closed, there were only us, and it was very quiet. The big kang room was also very interesting, and you must experience it once. Although it takes 10 minutes to walk to South Street, I was a little tired and couldn't find the north on the first day I arrived. I felt that I had walked a long way. The next day I went to South Street for shopping and eating and felt that I arrived in a short while. The boss also gave us discount coupons for several popular restaurants. The boss's wife also specially sent us vinegar in the evening, saying that it was brewed from real grains and not blended.
