Well, We fell for the glowing ******* reviews on this one. This was definitely a you get what you pay for experience. The room was such a deal, we paid extra for a mountain view room and the view from all the rooms were the same view of the run down motel next door. The grounds were not well kept and the river side area was just overgrown grass with a junky picnic table. The ice maker was a pile of junk sitting by the elevator. Our room had a smoking/sitting area outside of our window that made our room smell of smoke. There were shipping containers all along the parking lot along with a big open dumpster that smelled terrible. The towels were the thinnest cheapest towels they could find. The windows did not have curtains (only blinds) so the overhead light from the walking area glared in our room all night. You could not tell if it was night or morning. The “free”breakfast is only pancakes at the restaurant across the street, to upgrade to the buffet is $6. The buffet was ok at best. We all just felt dirty the entire stay and could not wait to get out of that place. The only positive was that the staff were very friendly. I would not recommend this hotel/motel to anyone.

Yes, the rooms could use updating and it appears that they are starting. But the location couldn't be better with such an easy walk to the island and Restaurant. They offer s'mores and a fire pit and live music. And the office staff was incredible. So get past the reviews about the rooms needing updated and stay there you will not regret it. Our room even had a gas fireplace, which was awesome. The bed was extremely comfortable.
