This was a very pleasant surprise. The double room I booked with a special weekend rate of 45 euros per night was a real bargain. Even at the regular rate of 58 it would be well worth it. The location right off the Place Clemenceau, with undergorund parking a block away was very convenient and quiet. The decor is a bit odd, but the room was thoroughly modern, very small but well-equipped and the bathroom, though small also, included a bathtub with shower. The individually-controlled air conditioning was very powerful and very welcome as it was quite warm for late September. Pau is worth visiting for its castle, which was one of the highlights of our tour of southwest France. The scenery in the nearby Pyrenees is magnificent and should not be missed if you have a car.

We did not read the reviews before, but in retrospect the latest ones are a true reflection of this place. The positives, it’s close to the town center, its pet friendly the pillows were remarkably comfortable. The negatives:- it’s scruffy, difficult to park close to it. It’s next to a night club so expect noise until 05:00 at the weekend. If you have reduced mobility there only access to the lobby are via a series of steps. The hotels photos are misleading, their main photo is of the town chateau! It’s now become my number 1 worst hotel I’ve stayed in!

Dislikes:Photos are NOT representative of property condition.The rooms are tired and outdated, air con barely works, tv remote had no batteries. The shower curtain had mold and severe discoloration, needs a good clean!!!, lift didn't work and although advertised as having free parking, there isn't any, you have to use the underground carparks at a cost of €8.50 for 48 hours for a motorcycle , (no idea what a car is) and car parks are a good 10 walk from the property.

We checked in but the hotel was far from up to standard and we left straight away and had to find an alternative I would like a refund

Worn out hotel
The hotel is well situated but old and worn with no staff and modern electronic door locks that does not work properly. In addition no hot water in the afternoon

Hotel qui a (très)mal vieilli et qui n'est plus entretenu. Proposer une chambre dont la fenêtre voilée laisse passer les odeurs de cuisine et le bruit du climatiseur situé à un mètre et ronflant toute la nuit le lit défoncés c'est manquer de respect vis à vis des clients. J'ai demandé à changer de chambre et là : la prise électrique sans cache avec les fils directement accessible le robinet qui ne tient pas et les toiles d'araignées au plafond sans compter la couche de moisissure dans la salle de bain. Bref. Si cette catégorie existait pour les hotels il faudrait le qualifier de "marchand de sommeil"
