Hotel Montecallini - Adult Only 14 ★★★★

"The Montecallini is a beautiful hotel, from the minute we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome by Julio, he took our cases and met us at Reception and from that moment on, we felt we had really landed at home. We paid extra to upgrade our room to a pool view, it was only €9 so it made sense and we were glad we did, every evening at sunset, the sparrows come along and sing while the sunsets and we could sit on our balcony and listen to their lovely chirps. Our room was comfortable, very clean and everything we needed for our 3 nights stay. Perfect. The pool area was very clean and well maintained, quiet as well, this Hotel isn’t for the party people, it’s more for couples or people who just want to sit and chill out and close off for a few days from the world. Breakfast is very good, lots of choice on offer and seating inside and out, but we opted inside mostly because of the flies and wasps at this time of year. All the staff we encountered from Julio and Chiara on Reception to our lovely Fares on the Bar, everyone we encountered couldn’t have been more welcoming to us, they make this Hotel perfect and you feel so welcome, thank you. Also, look out for all the herb gardens and fruit trees....amazing! The only downside to our stay, we were slightly disappointed by the evening meal situation, there was very limited items available and it all had to be done by 8pm, I’ve come over to Italy from the UK and I wanted more pasta dishes on offer (in Italy it’s expected). We did try one of their recommend Restaurants in the town, but this didn’t meet our expectations, the restaurant wasn’t a good standard, ants and cats everywhere, not what we came into this area for, so evening food at the hotel was a bit of a let down, maybe offer more for guests and manage bookings so you know what your guests would like, even pre-ordered meals, Lasagne and Gnocchi were not available one evening. Overall, our stay has been perfect, the staff are amazing, thank you all for a perfect 3 nights stay, I will definitely recommend you to family and friends."
