GGuest UserI had an absolutely wonderful stay at Baibale and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone visiting the Lancang area.
The facilities were excellent—everything was clean, comfortable, modern, and thoughtfully maintained. After long days of cycling, it was the perfect place to rest and recover. One detail I especially appreciated was the generous standard checkout time of 2:00 PM, which made departure much more relaxed than at most hotels.
The included breakfast and lunch were both fantastic. The food was fresh, delicious, and gave me a great opportunity to enjoy local flavors without having to rush out to find a meal.
What truly sets Baibale apart, however, is the staff. I was bikepacking across China and later flying onward, and they went far above and beyond to help me throughout my stay. Whether it was assisting with logistics, answering questions, or simply taking the time to make sure everything was going smoothly, they consistently showed genuine kindness and hospitality.
One of my favorite parts of my stay was spending time talking with the staff about the different local teas. They were incredibly knowledgeable and happy to share their passion, making the experience feel much more personal than just staying at a hotel. Those conversations, along with all of their other thoughtful help, made my time in Lancang especially memorable.
If you’re staying in the Lancang area, Baibale is a place you shouldn’t miss. Between the excellent facilities, great food, generous checkout time, and some of the warmest, most attentive hospitality I’ve experienced anywhere, it was easily one of the highlights of my trip across China.

AAstrxdThe environment was very comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful view whwre you can see some of the sea of clouds. They give you disposable coverings for you to put on top of the fresh pillow bedding and mattress for extra hygiene which is a nice touch I haven't seen before. Bathroom is very clean, though there are only two toilets and two showers and two sinks, so do note that for busy season, but it wasn't an issue at all during my stay. They provided breakfast too, fresh milk the boss heated for me when I got up, and red sugar glutinous rice cakes wrapped in banana leaves (babas), and it was fun to get ready for the day with new friends on the balcony overlooking the village. I think the environment is very good for meeting new friends and other solo travelers- I arrived at the hostel randomly at the same time as three other girls, and we explored Manghong togetjer on the boss's recommendations for itinerary and sightseeing. And the next day the boss dropped us off at a tea roasting experience, and just as we were heading to Nuogan another girl from the hostel finished her tea roasting session, so we all went to Nuogan togetjer to play. The boss even helped load my luggage onto the shuttle bus so that it could pick me up at a sightseeing spot further down the mountain!

The design is breathtaking, the rooms are spacious and airy, and the smart home features enhance the overall experience. Complimentary coffee and tea are available, and you can swim directly in the heated pool. The receptionist is incredibly friendly and helpful, even assisting with your luggage and recommending fun places to visit nearby. She's also very pretty. The location is convenient, making it a must-stay in Ning'er!

GGuest UserWarm reception upon arrival, and the facilities are all top-notch, even offering late-night snacks. The room is spacious and clean, well-equipped with excellent hot water for the shower and efficient air conditioning. The hotel also boasts a gym, laundry room, and a lovely terrace with great views. It's located close to Ximabo River and Meizi Lake, but getting to the city center for a city walk is easy by bike. There's also a bus stop right outside, making transportation very convenient. Highly recommended, I'd definitely stay here again.

SSitao 1985I would love to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Old Town of Chama. It may be a little tricky to find at first, but just follow Google Maps and you’ll get there easily. From the main gate of the Old Town, it’s only about a 5-minute walk.
The hotel itself is quite new and very clean. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the bathroom facilities and appliances are all modern and high-quality. The soundproofing is excellent—although you might hear music and dancing outside, once inside the room it’s perfectly quiet. The location strikes a nice balance: slightly away from the hustle and bustle, yet just a few steps from plenty of food stalls and restaurants.
What really makes this place special is the owners. They are a warm, welcoming family with parents, an elder sister, and two younger brothers. They don’t speak English, but communication was never a problem—we used Google Translate to chat over cups of delicious tea. If you need anything, you can always ask them. They are very friendly and genuinely do their best to help.

This hotel is newly renovated. Superbly clean and tidy. Complete amenities from the lobby to the room. Tables to drink tea and relax. Stable WiFi.
I traveled from Luang Prabang (Laos) by train (about 5-6hours journey) and I checked in around 8pm and hotel owner (lady) was there, she politely asked if I had eaten when I said haven’t. After check in complete, she took me to a nearby noodle shop by her scooter and even helped me to order. Sat with me until I finish eating and brought me back to hotel, treated me with beer and Pu’er tea at the lobby. Her husband also joined. Very very very helpful and kind couple, also the staffs at the hotel.
They even helped me to organize my itinerary for Pu’er. The husband even walked me to the bus stop and waited for me to get on the Nakeli Villlage Tour Bus.
I stayed 2 nights, both nights I sat with them where they offered Pu’er tea (high quality ones, not the cheap ones). Offered beer. Both nights we sat for few hours chatting, although there were language barriers, translating app helped both sides. They offered breakfast too.
In short, I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. 12-15mins walking distance to the Simao Old Street. DiDi cars available almost all the hours. Bus stations nearby. Very peaceful surrounding.
Take time to mingle with the owners and staffs, they’re extremely helpful.

AAnonymous UserI won't say much about the good and bad of the villa. I give it three stars for the overall evaluation. I probably won't go there again in the future. The stream is very dirty and you can't catch fish. You can't see the sunset when riding up the mountain. I give the restaurant 80 points for the food, but I have to give it 100 points for the service. There is a chef who is very nice. You can ask her to cook for you. The taste is great. 👍👍
A reminder to friends who drive. You may get your car scratched and there is no place to appeal. Let me talk about my experience in detail. I rented a car from Pu'er Station and drove to Aini Manor. The road was winding all the way. The road was easy to drive, but there were too many bends, so new drivers should go slower. There is a row of parking areas at the front door of Aini Manor. Because I rented a car, I took extra care of it. At about 8 o'clock after dinner on the night of check-in, I checked the whole car and went back to the room to sleep. When I checked out at 10 o'clock the next day, I suddenly found a scratch on the right side of the car from the front to the back (from the front wheel fender to the rear wheel fender). It didn't seem to be an accidental collision, but it felt intentional. So I found the manager of the villa, Mr. Zhao, and arranged to check the surveillance (only the parking spaces facing the lobby door can be seen clearly because there is no surveillance outside and can only be seen through the indoor surveillance). My car was not parked in front, so the surveillance could not see the details. I called the police, but because I had a later trip, I could not wait for the police who would come two hours later. I had no choice but to sacrifice several hours in order not to be fined a large amount of repair fees when returning the car. I searched for repair shops around Baidu and polished it myself, which cost 100 yuan. After negotiating with Manager Zhao, because the accident happened inside the villa, the villa should also bear a certain responsibility for the care of the vehicle and should bear my repair fee of 100 yuan. But! Manager Zhao did not respond to my WeChat. Anyway, you have left, and the attitude of completely ignoring it is really chilling. Friends who go to play again, protect your car and don't let such unpleasant things happen! ! ! Friends who rent cars must buy full insurance, including scratches, so you don't have to worry about it😭

The service was exceptional; it's rare to encounter such a wonderful owner who truly anticipates and addresses guests' needs. Absolutely fantastic! It's also quite close to the station, and the owner was very prompt with pick-up and drop-off, couldn't ask for more. Definitely a five-star review, highly recommend staying here. GGuest UserStaying at the Little Panda Hotel truly feels like being in a forest. We booked a family suite, and the room was incredibly spacious with an unobstructed view of the quiet forest ahead. It also had a huge bathtub and a sofa area, which made us very happy. Even though the price was high during the National Day holiday, it was still worth it.
Furthermore, among all the forest hotels I've stayed in, this one had the best hygiene – definitely a thumbs up! 👍
The hotel's children's activity center is large, and there are also areas for adults to drink tea, roast tea, and simply relax. The hotel offered two complimentary experiences, and the kids had a blast, allowing the adults to get some good rest too.
On the downside, service could be improved, especially during peak season. It would be better if various experience activities adopted an advance reservation system to manage crowds. The hotel was fully booked during our stay, and all the activities were packed with people. We originally wanted to join the night insect watching tour, but we had to give up because of the large crowd.

Yes, it is very loud and you hear everyone. We’ve stayed in other fully wooden places, it’s worse here. Maybe not the wood but the guests are the problem. Loud Chinese people, walking the stairs with the heaviest pace you can imagine. Maybe help the other guests by hanging some warnings on the stairs: please be mindful for the other guests when walking to your room.
Also loud Chinese tourist on the square below. Not only while eating they scream all over the place, also with the tea ceremony nobody asks them to please stop talking after 23:00/24:00. We were up till 02:00AM because of tea drinking Chinese people at the fire. We stayed in the suite, which is located above the fire pit. Maybe the other rooms are less noisy. At 7AM each morning, somebody ran down the stairs. We think it’s the staff. It wakes you up through your earplugs.
The staff is OK. They are very shy, not rude. They could be more pro active though as we didn’t feel like they wanted to do something.. which is different to rude but also not very friendly.
The other villages around are way bigger and less cozy than Wengji. Also, with this guesthouse being just next to the town, it was perfect to escape the tourists most of the time. We didn’t find other accommodations in Wengji with the same aesthetics as Shishi guesthouse so we can’t recommend other places better than this.
Maybe if the guesthouse would invest in trying to keep the noise down under the various guests, with text signs or with clearer house rules (fire pit), the noise problem wouldn’t be as bad.
Maybe if they tried to enthusiast their staff more and keep them from watching Chinese drama shows on their phones all day, they would be a bit more welcoming.
We’ve met a lot of amazing people in Wengji, it’s definitely not the locals that have this behaviour.
Lastly, the suite has a cubicle bathroom in the room, they really don’t clean this well. It smells very bad and just feels dirty all over.
For comfort this place is too expensive, for the location and aesthetics you won’t find better options nearby.
