I spent a long time on Ctrip, and finally chose Manchester City. The location is good, and it is more convenient to enter and exit. The whole family traveled together and stayed in a tea house for the first time. The view of the lake outside the window was beautiful and the air was very comfortable. I will choose here again next time I come.
I made Pu'er tea cakes, picked the tea leaves by hand, fried them, rolled them, and dried them in the sun.
Children gain knowledge in the process.

In the urban area of Pu'er, this should be a hotel with good hardware facilities. Because it opened early, the decoration is relatively old-fashioned, but the quality of the decoration is good and the maintenance is OK. The room is relatively large and spacious. The hotel is separated by a big road and opposite to a big park. The environment is good. The breakfast was a bit disappointing as the price of the hotel is not cheap. There are few varieties, the quality is average, and the addition of vegetables is very slow. The biggest problem with the hotel: the noise in the room was so loud that it was difficult to sleep at night. This should be an unsolvable problem. Facilities: I booked a suite, which is also a hexagon. The whole room is quite large, with a separate tea-drinking space. The hot water is in a small instant drinking machine. The cups are placed in the disinfection cabinet for peace of mind. The house is surrounded by glass. It feels good to wake up in the morning. There is a super large balcony outside. It is quite warm when the air conditioner is turned on at night. The curtains in the bathroom are electrically raised and lowered, and the bathtub is very large. The entrance is a double door with a card swipe. The toiletries are L'Occitane. The shoes and toiletries for children are cute and there is a separate bag.

OOlive GohWhen I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made.
The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car.
When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff.
The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion.
This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time!
One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay.
Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.

Laundry: The elevator is on the 8th floor. Go one floor to the 9th floor to wash clothes. There are three washing machines with lifting hangers! Don't worry if there is no drying function. Pu'er is quite dry. Wash it at night and it will be dry in the morning! The layout of this floor of the laundry building is very good!
Service: The sisters at the front desk are very enthusiastic. As soon as they arrived, they started to help with the luggage! They smiled very sweetly! And there is a WeChat customer service function. If you need anything, you can say it on WeChat and respond quickly! Very good! After adding the service account, there are travel tips! The recommended food and travel routes are all on it! It is very helpful for us who have a bad memory!
The only shortcoming: Our room faces the opposite No. 6 Middle School. The morning exercises are a bit early, and we are passively woken up~ For those who wake up early, you can completely ignore it. Friends who want to sleep in are better to have a room that is not facing the road~

GGuest UserThis is a new hotel conveniently located for the airport and station, but not in a touristy part of town. The facilities were really excellent. Everything is brand new and a lot of thought has clearly gone into the design. Some nice touches, like fresh fruit in the evening, and an accessible washing machine were very welcome. The bed was super comfortable and all the linens were pristine. The breakfast was Fine, nothing particularly special. But best of all I have to say was the staff. From the staff on the front desk to the lady who cleaned my room everyone was extremely welcoming and did everything they could to answer my questions, help me with any small problems and make my stay comfortable. A very big thank you to all of you. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone coming to Pu'er.

GGuest UserOriginally, i booked only 1 night, with the intention of going onwards to Laos the next day. But i stayed a 2nd night because the room was spacious and the view out of the window was so restful.
About the room, I like it that there is a desk i could work from. And that the shower and WC areas are divided by a screen.
For the 2nd day, my room was refreshed with used toiletries replenished and towels changed. I wish the guesthouse would implement a system where guests are able to indicate if they wish to use the same towels. I am pro-environment, so if i don't change my towels everyday at home, i don't see the need to do so when i am away.
I also like the location as it was easy for me to catch Bus Route 3 to a nearby shopping area (i had KFC breakfast there), cross the road to take Bus Route 8 to Meizi Lake Park. I spent about 3 hours there, including enjoying coffee and cake in the cafe near the entrance to the park. (My biggest regard was i did not get to drink even 1 cup of Pu'er tea while in Pu'er :))
After that I back tracked on Bus Route 8 to change to Bus Route 3 to visit the Tea Horse Ancient City. Then after, I took Bus Route 3 to the shopping centre, had dinner and shopped at Walmart, before catching Bus Route 3 back to the guesthouse.
There is a walking/running track just across the road from the guesthouse. Forget about going the full length of the track. Once you see a slope on the right side, walk up there. You will get a nice viewpoint and there is a nice cafe there. If the weather is right, you get to see sunrise too! I went in the morning, the cafe was closed, so did not patronise the place. Had I known about this cafe, i would have gone there on the 1st day. Perhaps the guesthouse operator could do up a map with information of easily assessible places of interest. This could result in longer stays for free and easy travellers.
Pu'er is a well planned town/city. I like it and will recommend others to spend some time there. Most importantly, do stay at this guesthouse. The surrounding tea plantations will recharge you!

GGuest UserThanks to the boss and his wife for their warm hospitality! Absolutely underestimated inn, one of the best locations in Jingmai Mountain to see the sea of clouds. Parking in the courtyard is convenient, unlike the village of Tenggan and Wengji cars. The room is large and the facilities are good. The boss and his wife are very real, the breakfast rice noodles are delicious, and the tea is delicious. Personal experience, the most amazing landscape of Jingmai Mountain is the sea of clouds. On the contrary, the ancient village feels ordinary when you see more, and the cherry blossoms on the road are not bad. Living in Sakamoto to see the sea of clouds is a good choice. It is really beautiful to go to the ancient village to check in during the day. The sea of clouds is really beautiful. It is worth visiting once. I get up for two consecutive days to watch the sunrise of the sea of clouds. It is as beautiful as a fairyland. It is absolutely shocking.

Our children loved camping in the caravans and (given that we normally live in Shanghai) we were delighted to see the stars twinkling in the night sky! Sunrise and sunset was also breathtaking. The whole site is very well maintained and we enjoyed walking on clearly defined paths in the tea plantation. Staff were polite and accommodating - and breakfast was one of the best and most beautifully presented that we have seen. We also enjoyed a delicious evening meal at the restaurant, which was very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend!

Remarkably situated on the rooftop of a historic warehouse or market building, it has been thoughtfully and tastefully designed - and is a lovely place to stay. The hotel is only a stone’s throw from the fascinating Daijia Alley, where some of the oldest buildings in Pu’er can be found - and is also within walking distance of the Tea Celebrities Garden and other landmarks. You can easily take a taxi to the Ancient Tea Horse Road. Our room was really delightful and included a pretty waterside decking area with outdoor furniture. Staff were extremely polite and helpful and breakfast was plentiful and delicious! We would HIGHLY recommend this hotel if you are planning to stay in Pu’er.
