"We stayed for three nights and here's our experience for your reference.
Disadvantages:
1. When checking in, although there was a POS machine at the reception, they insisted that we pay the city tax in cash instead of using a bank card. This is the only hotel among all the European hotels I've stayed at that has such a requirement. However, we eventually paid with a bank card when checking out.
2. The room facilities are very basic.The bed next to the window felt drafty and very cold, and the air conditioner made a lot of noise.
3. There was a foul smell when we entered the room, and the sound insulation was very poor. It was very noisy in the morning when someone was cleaning the corridor.
4. The Wi-Fi signal in our room was very weak.
Advantages:
1. Breakfast is provided.
2. Room service is great.
3. The staff have a good attitude."

"Although the location is pretty far from the city Centre, riding the tram was pretty easy and convenient (about 20 min to downtown). The staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was buffet style with a variety of breads, baked goods, scrambled eggs, yogurts, meats and cheeses. The room was very clean and the cleaning staff are very diligent. Also the furniture choices for the room were perfect. Small side tables and a small desk didn’t take up too much space. The only things that were a bit dissatisfying were the noise level (we could hear other guests’ alarms in the morning and stomping in the upstairs rooms) and some parts of the room were a little worn or old, including some damage to the wall and baseboards, missing grates from the air conditioning vent."

"I booked and used the hotel in advance for one night only.
The location and cleanliness of the hotel was perfect.
The quality of the front desk staff varied.
The person who was on duty on the morning of April 10 was very courteous and helpful.
On April 10 at 21:00, when I returned to the hotel,
I greeted the staff at the front desk in Italian at the person to the right of the front desk at from the entrance said ”Ai-ya” to me.
I'm Asian and not all Asians speak Chinese.
I don't know why he had to say that word or what it means.
The person who worked there in the morning was very polite.
I was disappointed and felt uncomfortable.
If you are going to work at the front desk, it would be better to hire educated people."

"The hotel is just across the street from the Firenze Santa Maria Novella Station and Tram routes. Good environment and all attractions and shopping are within walking distance. We did not require to get on any public transport while at Firenze.
I booked for 2 people but there was only 1 set of towels in the room. I presumed it was a minor mistake, no big deal.

AAnonymous UserHu Firenze Camping in Town is located at the outskirt of the city where you can see a lot of greenery. There is a bus you can use to travel to the major scenic spots, museums and the railway station. It is in itself a campsite for nature lovers to stay away from the hectic life in the city while it is quite close to the city centre. It has a mini market, several swimming pools and areas for camping. Some stayed in caravans while others can rent a ”tent”, which has a bathroom, air conditiioning, a fridge, a safe and a bed. You can rent a bicycle to cycle around the around. Everything is neat and tidy.

KKalim’s worldThis is a good place to take care of your camera before you stay. You'll have to press the shutters from the sculpture behind the front desk, the small garden in the center of the hotel, to the interior of the restaurant where you can read magazines and newspapers. There is also Sky Juice (Lemon Water), which is provided for free in front of the elevator. It's a little ambiguous whether the small bar is a place to drink coffee or enjoy cocktails, but the atmosphere is still good. The pillow is impressive in the room. Let's not expect much space. We offer free drinks on the first day, but we didn't get free drinks every day just because we stayed for three consecutive days. Sensitive people will feel the floor is uneven. If you drop something on the floor, it will keep rolling in one direction. So the doors don't exactly engage. Windows have to be lucky to open. Unfortunately, I didn't see the garden but only the wall. The bathroom gives the impression of making the most of the space, and the shower and shower booth are factors that negatively affect the hotel. Since the front desk is not looking at the front door, you will have to look around to be welcomed. You can't control the heating at will in the room. If it's cold, you have to call the front desk, and you should be lucky to use hot water early in the morning. The inside is more beautiful than the outside, but not everyone is the best.

MMarcos 305Villa Tortorelli is a charming mix between a bed-and-breakfast and a hotel. My experience here was mostly positive, and while there were a few minor issues, I could tell that the staff genuinely does their best to run the villa as smoothly as possible.
Check-in & First Impressions
The first thing to note is that the villa is designed to work with automated check-in processes, which is great for most travelers. However, it could be better explained to future guests to avoid any confusion. Not everyone will have a working phone or data plan when they arrive in Italy, and it’s important for the villa to have a backup plan in case guests are unable to connect.
One simple suggestion would be to provide Wi-Fi access at the entrance of the villa and share the network name and password with guests before their arrival. This would make it easier for everyone to access the automated system without any issues.
Room & Comfort
I stayed in the Deluxe Suite, located on the first floor of a three-story villa, right next to the breakfast room. At first, I was concerned about noise, but the thick, heavy door completely blocked any sounds from the breakfast area. I never heard a thing in the morning.
The room has blackout curtains that provide great privacy and darkness, which I really appreciated. The bathroom was newly renovated with luxury finishes, including stone walls that give it a high-end feel. The room was clean, and the daily housekeeping service kept everything spotless, with fresh towels replaced daily.
One of the standout features of Villa Tortorelli is Karen, the person in charge of breakfast service and housekeeping. She is incredibly attentive and hardworking. She ensures that guests are well taken care of, and the breakfast is always well-prepared and served hot. Honestly, if they lose Karen, the villa would lose two stars in reviews. She is one of their greatest assets.
Breakfast Experience
The breakfast service was excellent. The food is prepared fresh every morning, and Karen makes sure there is always a variety of hot and cold options available. The breakfast room is cozy and inviting, with plenty of choices to start your day off right.
The Villa’s Atmosphere & Location
The villa is peaceful and surrounded by greenery, making it a relaxing place to stay. It’s also within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions in Florence, which makes it very convenient for exploring the city.
One Minor Issue
The only negative point during my stay was that the room felt quite cold when I first arrived. However, I reached out to the WhatsApp help service, and the heating system was adjusted quickly. Within a short time, the room felt much warmer and more comfortable.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Villa Tortorelli is a great option for those looking for a peaceful, well-located stay in Florence. The automated check-in system could use some improvement to avoid any potential issues for guests without a data plan, but aside from that, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast is excellent, and the staff is very attentive.
Would I stay here again? Yes, especially for Karen’s service and the peaceful villa atmosphere!

The room was incredibly spacious, providing plenty of room to relax after a day of exploring the city. The amenities offered were more than sufficient, making the stay comfortable. The breakfast provided was decent, with a good selection to start the day. The neighborhood around Popartment was quiet and serene, which made for peaceful evenings, yet it was conveniently close to restaurants and shops. A short walk to the tram stop made it easy to access the city's main attractions, and the nearby establishments provided a variety of options for dining and shopping.
The one area where improvement could be made is with housekeeping. While it’s understandable that the room isn't cleaned daily, I would recommend at least providing a service to take away the trash regularly.
Overall, Popartment is a solid choice for anyone looking for a spacious, well-located, and peaceful stay in Florence.

AAaronThe staff was very professional and everyone spoke English. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The location was good for me because I could walk to everywhere I wanted to visit. Their ”continental breakfast” was good and had a lot of things - yogurt, muffins, eggs, bacon, croissants, and various other things.

GGuest UserVery pleased with my stay. Hotel kindly upgraded me from a Single Room to a Double Room in low season in November, which is really nice.
The room is spacious, with good natural light, double glazed windows and good ventilation/air con/heating. Toilet with stand shower is of a good size as well, not too small and cramped.
Hotel location is super close to the central station in Florence, around 5 mins walk only to it, which is very ideal for travellers arriving into Florence by rail.
It's slow walkable to pretty much all attractions (within 15-25 mins), so is a good place to base yourself in for a short stay.
Similar to many hotels in Italy, there are a few steps at the entrance but there is a lift to get you up to your room.
Check-in process is smooth and complimentary breakfast is decent. I especially love the coffee and jucie machine and pancakes offered. It'd be great if besides scrambled eggs, some kind of breakfast meats like sausages can also be offered. They do have some basic cold cuts and cheese and ham as well, yogurt, and cornflakes, it's a more diverse continental breakfast, which is great for a 3 Star Hotel.
As the hotel is very close to the Train Station, you do hear trains / trams passing through from the streets, but the noise level is acceptable with the double glazed windows' insulation.
I would recommend this hotel for solo travellers.

GGuest UserIt's in a great location, 7 minutes from the station and 10 minutes from the Ufutzii Museum, but it was hard to find because there was no hotel sign! I was standing 10 meters away, but I couldn't find it even after walking back and forth, so I asked a nearby hotel staff member, who pointed to a small door and said, ”It's right there.” I pressed the intercom, had it opened, went up to the third floor, and finally checked in. The room was cute, and when I told them I was leaving early in the morning, they were flexible and said, ”I can make breakfast at the breakfast shop and have it delivered the day before.” There was a shower, a refrigerator, and bottled water for the bed. If you leave the room and go up one level, there is a shared terrace with a view of the roofs of the ancient city. If the check-in goes smoothly, it's a great place to stay.
