Shigeo Nagashima gave this inn the motto of "cleansing the mind with a pleasant bath." It really was. Although my stay was a little short at three nights, I was able to take a bath and feel a great weight off my shoulders. If possible, I would like to stay five nights next time. The owner's mother made a wonderful cup of tea for me, and it is still a heartwarming memory.

This was my first time staying with a guide dog. I was very impressed with the care they took in making our stay. I heard it's hard to get a reservation, but I'd definitely like to return.

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed a relaxing and exquisite bathing experience. The open-air bath "Mori no Yu" in the detached building, which also appears in JR's campaign posters, was worth more than its price. Watching the trains on the Rikuuto Line go by while soaking in the Yin-no-yu and Yang-no-yu baths on the fourth floor was liberating and satisfying to the senses. If you stay for multiple nights, you can relax in the steam bath and have a chance to enjoy the Yakushi Sennin-buro bath alone, which helped to relieve your daily stress. Furthermore, after eating healthy meals filled with seasonal vegetables and mountain delicacies from Naruko, I slept soundly and felt like my mind and body were being balanced. It seems that the various menopausal symptoms were resolved and I was able to get back to my true self!! The hotel will be closed for renovations from November 7, 2022 to around January 2023.

Will it become Higashi Naruko Onsen? The nearest station is Naruko Goten Station. There is an inn along the street of a small hot spring town with a deserted feeling. For some reason, there was something like a carriage wheel in front of the inn, which caught my interest. The lanterns are from the Association for the Protection of Secluded Hot Springs in Japan. It looks like a member's inn. The room was small this time, probably because it also has a side of a hot spring inn. (It was a simple room, but it was enough to stay) There are 6 baths in the hotel. There are variations to other hot water (ondol?). The two baths on the 4th floor are private baths, but no reservations are required. Because it is located on a hill, I was able to see the scenery of the hot spring town. The hermit bath on the 1st floor has a large bathtub and murals (Buddhist paintings) are drawn, creating a unique space. The mural is by Noriko Takahashi, an artist associated with the inn. Don't forget the round legless chair in the center of the bathtub. If you get tired of the hot water, you can sit here and switch to a half-body bath. I also tried using the private open-air bath in a place away from the inn. Transfers are available from the inn and arrive in about 5 minutes. It is a pity that the bathtub is moderately wide and there is a time limit. I was able to have a delicious meal. After all, the rice in Tohoku is delicious. Replacement will proceed. It was a wonderful ryokan where you can experience a small hot spring cure and visit hot springs.
