"This is a unique inn, and I was particularly pleased with the service, which was more welcoming than a hotel. We had a lot of heavy luggage, and fearing the local area might be unsafe, we had to take it all to the room and didn't dare leave it in the car. We specifically requested a first-floor room because there's no elevator on the second floor. Customer service was helpful in arranging a first-floor room. The surrounding nature is beautiful, and it's a national park, though it's closed. There's a supermarket in a small town not far away, with affordable prices and quite convenient. There are also some small restaurants nearby, including some Japanese food."

"The room was nice. You can tell it was designed with great care. It's a popular hotel. But the bedding and towels were very cheap. The quilt made a loud plastic sound when it turned over. The front desk was not very professional either. They were either chatting or drinking."

The room was spacious with a comfy bed, and the private balcony quickly became our favorite spot – we could hear the fountain in the mornings and evenings while we sipped coffee or a glass of wine, which made the whole stay feel incredibly peaceful. The property itself is very clean and well maintained, and we appreciated having a fireplace in the room to put on a movie and unwind at night. The hotel is close enough to walk into town for restaurants and shops, but tucked far enough away that it stays quiet and relaxing. Overall, a wonderfully calm, peaceful place to stay in Ojai and we’d happily come back."
