Comfortable, welcoming, lovely views.
Comfortable stay in rural location with beautiful views. Danny and Fran excellent hosts. Good breakfast. Ideal spot for us to stay for out Whanganui river trip in Pipiriki.

A beautiful setting with an amazing gracious host! We loved the setting, path along the river and attention to details. Danny is a wonderful host. I wish we could have stayed a third night.

Amazing venue, very clean, very comfortable, stunning attention to detail around the property and a fantastic host. A really great experience. If you are deciding between this place and another my advice is to go with this place, you won’t regret it. We shall be back!!! 10/10

We stayed at The lodge for two nights. It was nice, comfortable, warm and cozy, despite the freezing temperatures outside as it is winter. The owners were very kind and helpful towards us, and drove us to the Mardi Gras event (and back from the event too). We also got complimentary breakfast, which was also good, with a selection of cheeses, meats, vegetables and toast and scrambled eggs. Also, the views from the lodge were incredible, overlooking the snow capped mountains (possibly Mt Ruapehu). I really enjoyed the stay. My only suggestion is that there should be unlimited wi-fi provided, but other than that, I had a really enjoyable stay.

We are staying 3 nights in one of the new chalets: chalet #3. Everything the owner is doing is based on quality! So awesome chalet, super breakfast and very very helpful and friendly owner Daniel. From all the B&B's we had in the past 4 weeks in New Zealand this is by far the best.

The River Lodge is a beautiful property set in lovely grounds. We had a large beautiful room, very comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and a balcony with a wonderful view of the mountain. We had fabulous breakfasts and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only downside is that it is quite remote - about a 10 minute drive into Ohakune.

A gracious host, views of Mount Ruapehu, and perfectly located for a day on the slopes or tramping nearby nature walks. The cabins are simple but nicely appointed and cozy. The breakfast included is ample, tasty, and locally sourced; a great start to a day out. The grounds are lush, beautiful, and well cared for. A perfect play to stay.
