The Pier Rooms

Minimalist is the word. A windowless room with a comfortable bed, nice bathroom, tv, kettle and a/c. And that’s it. A lot of noise from the restaurant upstairs, moving tables and chairs about at 6am ,probably the cleaners, didn’t make for a good sleep. One disappointing thing is that we didn’t get our towels changed, or the bed made up, in the 3 nights we were there. I did manage to get fresh ones from a cupboard in the hall though. I’d stay again for 1 night if I was getting a ferry the next morning but otherwise no. Very central to pier, busses and trains.

The location was great. The keyless entry only works if you have a cell phone with data which was an issue for me. The AC unit dripped all night and made the carpet wet.

I stayed here for 10 nights and couldn’t fault it.The cheapest room in Oban I think and in a great location for trains,buses and ferries.No window but quite a lot of accommodation now has no window.I am always out so a window wouldn’t make any difference to me.Air conditioning was good and as the weather was very wet a lot of the time I could turn up the temperature to dry out my clothes.I always travel with ear plugs so was wasn’t bothered by any noise.Lots of places to eat nearby including Seafood Hut,Weatherspoons,fish and chip shops and many others.I will stay again.

I did not like any of it, the room was claustraphobic, the bed was to high. I actually fell from bed trying to get up and scraped my knee. There was no where to go to complain. Very very disappointed.

Facility new, well thoughtout for minimal size room. Perhaps interested; toilet drain leaked. Staff cleaned up and left extra towels. Very close trains, ferries, buses. I did not receive all emails from property they claimed sent to *******. Finalizing the stay was not enjoyable experience.

Excellent value for money in a central location. There is a nice Wetherspoons next door for food and drink at good prices. Also other restaurants nearby. I chose to park in the gated train station car park which was only a few steps from the door…pricey but my choice, there will be other car parking not too far away.
