"A quick stop for coffee and I so want more of this treasure! Welcoming staff on reception and a cosy reception room with stunning views of Rutland water, so relaxing. The coffee was one of the best I had ever tasted, served with biscuits and divine cup and saucers. Any establishment which has Penhaligon’s toiletries in the restrooms just exudes luxury! Highly recommend and I will be back soon to try the menu and rooms!"

"We’ve been coming here for the last four years and, unfortunately, this was by far our most disappointing visit. The complex is now under new management, and it really feels like standards have slipped. The golf course was in terrible condition and looked very overplayed. The greens had just been treated, so it does look like they are trying to improve things, but overall the course was nowhere near the standard we’ve experienced in previous years. The rooms were nice as usual, and the food was okay, as was breakfast. They’ve also clearly tried to make the bar into a nicer space, but the experience was let down by the lack of drinks available. Out of six beers advertised, only one was actually available — and that was a 3.5% lager, which then ran out as well. For a golf complex, that really isn’t good enough. The venue is now also cashless, which is another change that I wasn’t impressed with. It’s a real shame because we’ve had some fantastic weekends here over the years, but unfortunately we won’t be returning. Hopefully the new management can turn things around, because the place has a lot of potential."
