Indigo Properties in Ningbo

I stayed at an Intercontinental Hotels Group brand for two consecutive nights. The first night was at Voco Dongqian Lake, and the experience was just okay. The rooms in a scenic area should ideally have a view to match, but my window just looked out at a building, which felt very jarring. The breakfast had a lot of variety, but the quality was mediocre. The second night, I stayed at the Indigo in Wenchuang, and the design was much more impressive – walking into the lobby felt like a W Hotel, I wonder if it's the same designer. The service was fantastic; even when I returned to the hotel at 2:30 AM, the doorman still helped me open the door and press the elevator. The butler service was incredibly thoughtful; perhaps they guessed I'd sleep in 😏 and proactively offered me a late check-out. I didn't get to try breakfast, but I'll definitely experience it on my next stay. Highly recommended!

Indigo Ningbo truly excels at incorporating local Ningbo elements. Even the standard rooms showcase a well-thought-out design and solid materials. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere evokes a sense of old money, instantly transporting you to the prosperity of the city's commercial heyday. The banking house theme is subtly woven throughout, from the coin and abacus motifs in the restaurant chairs and guest room sofas to the front desk design and even the vault door. The wet and dry separation in the room is meticulously done, and the use of sliding and folding doors creates a well-organized and comfortable layout. The concept of a 'Yongshang' (Ningbo merchant) resting place is brilliantly executed, especially in the color palette, ensuring a consistent feeling of comfort. The breakfast selection is quite good, and the Ningbo glutinous rice balls are a highlight. However, the yellow croaker noodles don't really capture the essence of Ningbo's fresh seafood, and they might even consider adding a stall for *cifan tuan* (sticky rice rolls). The swimming pool and gym are very comfortable, and their opening hours are convenient. It's quite necessary to ventilate the rooms, especially those with sealed windows. Overall, the package price offers good value for money. It's undoubtedly the best choice in Ningbo Dongxin. The performance of the front office managers was outstanding and truly commendable 👍
