The indoor pool looked older and not kept up with an unsteady ladder. The bathrooms looked as if they don't get a good cleaning ever, and there was hair on the bedsheets when we arrived. I honestly expected more from this price range of a hotel."

"We were greeted at the door by our host, Brian, upon arrival at this 1890's Victorian home in Newport. It was everything we expected. Beautiful room, fantastic breakfasts, and the wonderful wine and cheese gathering late in the afternoon. The Almondy Inn is perfectly located so we were able to walk to all the attractions and restaurants in Newport. The charm and hospitality of Newport are present everyday during your stay at the Almondy Inn. We most highly recommend."

Mary has such a kind, welcoming personality that made us feel so comfortable & ready to explore all the town has to offer. The breakfasts were filling, delicious and we were lucky enough to have some great conversations with the other guests at the time. The location of the B&B was near almost everything that you want to do in the town & especially close the Cliff Walk path on the coast. We are so glad that we chose Gardenview for our trip & highly recommend it to anyone considering it in the future!"

"My family of 5 had a reservation (and it was already paid!) for July 4th Weekend. When we tried to check in, they told us that they were oversold and an owner took our unit. They would NOT help us find another hotel and gave us a number to call (who tried to put us up at a Motel 6). No sympathy for the 3 young children they had just displaced. Needless to say it was next to impossible to find a new room (2 rooms actually, as we are a family of 5... the entire reason we booked a 2 bedroom suite) in Newport on the 4th of July. They were rude and just awful and I would never attempt to stay at a Wyndham again because apparently they can just cancel your reservation even though you paid for your room."

"Overall the staff was wonderful. However, the room was extremely small and the lights on one side of the bed decided not to work. My wife was with me and while I was in final meeting she moved are things out of the room to check out. We got home and realized she hadn't checked the closet and left a pair of slacks and a blouse there. We immediately called the hotel, were told to file a claim with a website they use for this sort of thing, which we did. The result, no clothes found. My wife sent an email to a hotel manager. Nothing. SO don't leave anything behind as the staff will steal it."
