We absolutely adored our stay! We were so fortunate to have the ocean view room with terrace. We had an amazing time on this private terrace! We watched the sunrise in the early morning, sipped coffee, and admired the beautiful ocean waves during the day. And guess what? We even had a romantic champagne toast under the moonlight on the same terrace! The “Renaissance” room is absolutely breathtaking and charming. It truly lives up to its name. The spacious and comfortable bed, the beautifully appointed furniture, the elegant decor, the cozy fireplace, and the luxurious marble bathroom - it’s all just too much to take in. And let’s not forget the jacuzzi in the room - we definitely made the most of it!

This is a stunning property with maybe the best views in New England. But they only allow you to sit in the restaurant area without ocean views! Don’t really understand why. There’s a gorgeous area with stunning cliff views where Cara is normally located, but this area is closed for the season and Remys Loose doesn’t use it. We were really upset by this. Seems the waiters thought it was a few steps too many for them to serve us there. Makes zero sense to us given the opportunity for breathtaking views. Next time we won’t eat at their restaurant since the whole point of being in Newport is looking at the ocean. But great location otherwise.

My family and I had two rooms (the Georgian and the Victorian), and both were beautifully appointed, immaculate and had wonderful views. However, what really impressed us was the service. We were greeted by name everywhere we went in the hotel, and the staff seemed very well informed as to the reason for our stay (we were there for a wedding at another location). Everyone, frorm the front desk, to the valets to the shuttle drivers were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and seemed to bend over backwards to ensure that our stay was an excellent one. I will definitely stay here anytime I visit Newport!

The hotel is excellent, well appointed, beautiful grounds. The one problem we found is that the siding in the outdoor restaurant really ruins the views. The hotel has stunning views but they don't allow you to have breakfast or lunch in the small room where the dining restaurant is, and that is really the only place in the mansion that has stunning water views. The three nights we stayed, it was windy, so the curtains were down. We could either have breakfast outdoors with murky curtains (disappointing) or indoors in the non-water-views part of the restaurant... Don't understand why they don't let us use the one room with water views. We travelled thousands of miles for the views. The dining restaurant was closed for the nights we were there, and we just felt like the hotel dining experiences could be so much more fulfilling if only they used their space better.

From romance to solo painting, you will have all the feels you would like to have at this beautifully maintained Historic Mansion on the Cliffs of Newport, RI. The scenery, the staff, the delicious food and all the history of the property itself, will meet your expectations and then some. I highly recommend!!!

Our stay at The Chanler Cliff Walk exceeded our expectations. In addition to the stunning views and location right on the cliff walk. There is a lush green lawn with seating that overlooks the bay. The weather was so beautiful and the view so enjoyable that we sat there for hours – sometimes just the two of us and sometimes talking with other guest or staff of the hotel. Very, very nice.Our room was beautiful and furnished with quality, antiques and paintings. It was meticulously maintained by the housekeeping staff. All of the staff, and I mean ALL, were top-notch from the bellmen to the chef and manager. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent. There are many special features and services that the CHANLER offers besides being a great hotel.

Our only complaint was that we had to leave after three days. Our stay was fabulous and I am very hard to please!
