"My colleague, who arrived earlier from Dubai to Riyadh, recommended a newly opened Chinese-owned hotel. I initially thought it would be another guesthouse and was a bit hesitant, but booked it anyway for work convenience. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised. It was a brand-new hotel apartment with interior design perfectly suited to Chinese aesthetics – definitely top-notch in Riyadh. Unlike the business-like and impersonal atmosphere of hotels, the warmth and comfort of the Chinese-style apartment truly alleviated much of the anxiety of traveling and working, and the uncertainty of the future. The spacious living room was perfect for client visits and meetings, and the TV was as big as one at home. The separate large refrigerator and washing machine far surpassed any guesthouse in Riyadh; nobody wants to share a dirty washing machine for a week while on a business trip. There was also a private clothes-drying platform on the roof. If I had to point out a drawback, the internet signal and speed were slightly problematic because it was newly opened, but that didn't bother me. Then, speaking of service, it's no surprise that it was amazing. I'm used to the heavily accented middle-aged women in guesthouses, but this hotel manager, fluent in both Chinese and English, was quite interesting. Watching him effortlessly handle so many guests every day, I couldn't help but chat with him for a bit. It turns out we're the same age! I casually mentioned that I'd always wanted to see Cristiano Ronaldo play, and the very next day I received an invitation from him. He organized a group of about a dozen of us, all from out of town, to go see the Riyadh Victory Stadium match. For just over two hundred yuan a ticket, I fulfilled my dream! The atmosphere was fantastic! Ronaldo's one-on-one goal was so close! It was exhilarating! Watching my fellow Chinese folks in the same row having such a blast, we chatted about it on the way back. At that moment, I suddenly believed the saying ”Chinese people don't lie to Chinese people,” hahaha. In the following days, the manager's punctual service and professional business consulting also surprised me a little. When I received work assignments requiring me to stay a few more days, I didn't hesitate to extend my stay. I wonder what interesting things will happen in the next few days."
