Residence Inn New York the Bronx at Metro Center Atrium

My stay was uncomfortable. The manger engaged with hotel guest in an inappropriate manner, and the hotel appears to be doubling as a shelter.

My wife and I booked into the Residence Inn by Marriott in Auburn, Maine for four nights. Our room is a king suite on the fourth floor with an attached kitchen, chair, ottoman and dining table and tv. It’s a very comfortable layout with the comforts of home. The bathroom sink is separate from the toilet and shower so two can get ready at the same time. Breakfast has been provided every morning and will please even those non breakfast eaters. The only downside there is paving project close by and they operate at night, so all night long you hear dump truck traffic. Walmart and several restaurants are close by. We drove a three journey to see Acadia NP. Unfortunately it was overcrowded and no parking was available, Bar Harbor was the same situation.

I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding the service I experienced during my recent stay at your property. I had booked my stay for five nights but needed to check out one day early due to personal reasons. When I approached the front desk around 5:00 PM to discuss this, I was informed by the front desk staff that a refund for the unused night could not be issued because housekeeping had already left for the day and the room could not be serviced or re-rented. However, shortly afterward, I went upstairs to retrieve something from my room and observed housekeeping staff still actively cleaning other rooms. When I mentioned this to the front desk, I was told again that housekeeping had already left and there was nothing that could be done. This contradictory information suggests a lack of transparency and honesty, which is extremely concerning. The way this situation was handled was both unprofessional and unacceptable. I expect staff at all levels, from the front desk to management, to uphold honest communication and basic customer service principles. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite, leaving me highly dissatisfied with my stay. I request that you review this matter and take appropriate action, including issuing a refund for the unused night. I trust that you will address this promptly and ensure such situations are prevented in the future.

Since the property manager has already denied that this hotel is being used as temporary housing by the city, I won't make that claim. I will, however, say that this is exactly what the property looks like, smells like, feels like, sounds like, etc. So, if you'd like to share your (not cheap) hotel with a transient population, this is the place. We guests are not stupid and we know the obvious when we see it. Personally I would've chosen to pay less somewhere else if I had known this was the case. The common areas were clean, as well as the room itself. The bathroom showed signs of wear and tear, on par with an extended stay property. Breakfast was good and plentiful, and the front desk staff was friendly and professional. If Marriott has a say in how the property is used (not mandated by NYC) I'm surprised they'd do this.

I love the size and layout of the rooms. Location of the hotel is easily accessible to shops, restaurants and major highways

Nice hôtel Was pretty good overall. Spacious room with full kitchen. Only issues were terrible water pressure in the shower and nightstand drawers that wouldn't close.
