The staff was very friendly and helpful. It’s close to everything. Wifi didn’t get a good signal so TV wasn’t receiving channels.

I stayed at The Guest House in Natchez for a week in October 2025 while visiting from Rhode Island. I highly recommend it for others. The hotel's location is excellent; it's within easy walking distance of downtown shops, restaurants, museums, attractions, and the river bluffs. The building is well-maintained, and its rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The bed's mattress was firm and comfortable. The staff was professional and friendly. The owner was on-site occasionally, and Denise, at the front desk, was particularly helpful. The amenity I appreciated most was the complimentary breakfast. It wasn't only a continental breakfast; the restaurant had a full menu, and the food was excellent. I also had dinner there once during my stay. There was free (and safe) off-street parking. I plan to visit there again.

Arrived early to have a woman on reception shouting no no no to early, couldn’t get a word in to say I just wanted to drop my bags. Came back 3pm, room still not ready. Room ok nothing special. Breakfast was a disaster waiting 20 minutes for a table eventually waited another 10 minutes to give our order asked for coffee and orange juice still no service so we got up and left without anything. Could hear the staff shouting and arguing in the kitchen. Went to reception to complain, but there was a note saying no one duty and to ring but there was no phone. I was looking forward to staying here but it was a terrible experience

This was rated 2nd best hotel in Natchez when I booked it about one year ago but down to 6th by the time we stayed - and it’s easy to see why. Our experience began with an email advising the room we had booked wasn’t available due to ‘reasons beyond our control’ and to call the hotel to discuss. Before I’d even read that email, I’d had another advising we had been booked into an alternative room. Three things. One: take responsibility for what’s happening with your business. Two: if you want to speak to a customer, you call them - they’re the customer! Three: if you need to change a room that has been specifically reserved, consider offering an upgrade as a gesture of goodwill. The room we were moved to without consultation was the same standard but devoid of a feature (access to the patio) we specifically booked for. Anyway, on arrival the fault that meant our room wasn’t going to be available for two weeks had miraculously been fixed and we got the room we had booked. All well and good as was the room by and large. However, the service standard established via the email contact continued. Firstly, with the exception of the excellent breakfast waiter the property appears to be devoid of any experienced staff - or indeed in most cases, just staff - whatsoever. The check in window is a just about OK 4-8 but in the two mornings we stayed, we saw nobody on the desk to check people out at all. On our last morning we even had a fellow guest walk into our room (adjacent to the desk) hoping she might find a member of staff there! Even worse, on leaving to walk into town for dinner on our second evening we couldn’t avoid hearing the owner and/or GM having a very obvious ‘domestic’ over the phone! Embarrassing, unnecessary and wholly inappropriate. And so to the piece de resistance: breakfast. On checking in we were handed a scrappy piece of paper which we were informed was our breakfast voucher. Firstly, why any establishment of this size needs to operate a voucher system is beyond me, surely they should know their guests. Secondly, the contents were barely legible having been copied multiple times and with the first letters missing. It really set the ‘can’t be bothered’ tone. Thirdly and most importantly, there was a restriction to four items! Even worse, they’ve obviously learned from the Henry Ford model with ‘any egg you like as long as it’s scrambled’. Seriously, there’s a surcharge if your preference is for fried eggs for example. I tried to think how much worse it could possibly be, but failed. In decades of travelling both domestically for business and internationally for leisure, I genuinely cannot recall having a surcharge imposed for a fried egg! Re the restriction on number of items, look, some people eat a large breakfast, some a small, some none at all. It all evens itself out. If you really feel it’s that big a deal to have a guest eat an average of five items rather than four then just increase the price of the room by a couple of dollar

In Feb, had made reservations online for 2 rooms for two nights in Sept. Had difficulty completing the reservations after CC info entered. Never showed confirmed. Several hours online and calling to resolve. Ultimately called Guest House directly. Talked to Asst Mgr who cancelled online reservations (and I confirmed the credits for these) and rebooked for same rooms directly. She said we were all set. Arrived on 9/9 and told no reservations. Put us in two very small Q rooms for the night with understanding we would move the next day into a K room and a 2-doubles room that were available. 3 encounters with staff the next day and promised K was not available. Moved to 2-doubles and a larger Q room. Asst Mgr promised to call as she was never available. Never called. No apology or attempt to compensate in any way for major inconveniences. Lots of other smaller issues like no shower curtain in one room, porch with rocking chairs was locked, overall condition and appearance badly needed attention. Other annoying things like free breakfast included coffee, tea or OJ but a coke was $3. Two scrambled eggs but if wanted fried then $3 extra. Not what you expect for $250+ a night. Would not return and definitely not recommend.

AMAZING place! What a great experience! Just wow! From calling ahead and speaking with Darneshia who was kind and helpful to Princess greeting us on our arrival we were so pleased. The breakfast was one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time! Not just the run of the mill bed and breakfast it was chef’s kiss! Our waiter/host was Jaylon and he was incredible. He treats everyone like a celebrity and serves with his whole heart! The beds were so comfortable and the rooms were just beautiful! We will definitely be back! I cannot recommend this place enough!
