Residence Inn by Marriott Munich Central

I experienced some issues with communication between the concierge and reservations team — my room was cancelled twice without any notice. I had to call and rebook a third time while en route to the hotel after a long, tiring flight, which added unnecessary stress. Thankfully, the reception staff upon arrival were helpful and accommodating despite the earlier booking complications, which I appreciated. The hallways had a lingering smell of old, musty spices, which was a bit unpleasant. On the positive side, the rooms were spacious and well-equipped, especially the kitchen area, which had good utensils and made longer stays more comfortable. Breakfast was simple but decent, with a selection of cheeses, breads, and eggs. It does get quite busy, and tables fill up fast, so I recommend coming early. There’s only one elevator for the entire hotel, which means longer waiting times. Occasionally, it would skip floors even if you pressed the button. In one of the rooms, the electricity cut out a few times, and we had to go down to the concierge late at night to report it. Thankfully, the night staff were responsive and resolved the issue. Overall, despite a few hiccups, it turned out to be a good stay.

This hotel was great for Oktoberfest, it's literally a 5 min walk from the grounds. We had a big group of friends and didn't want to worry about calling a taxi or uber to get to and from. So from that perspective the hotel was a perfect fit for what we needed. They have a breakfast buffet too which was nice. All the nice shopping and restaurants are about a mile or 2 away from the hotel which is fine but annoying to have to call a cab everywhere and there was so much traffic with Oktoberfest going on as well. Definitely extremely overpriced for the Oktoberfest months relative to how nice the hotel actually is, but it did the job for what we needed while in Munich. I would probably come back again if we went to the festival as it's a great accommodation to fit a lot of people and so close to the grounds!

Great location close to transit. Rooms are well equipped as per usual residence inn standards. There was a large balcony/terrace with seating area. Area was quiet. Right beside mall with lots of grocery store options and restaurants/food court. Good Breakfast included with high chairs available. Great playground just down the street as well. Minicrib available. Decent black out blinds. Major downside was we weren’t able to check into our room until almost 5pm despite check in being 3pm. Front desk told us it was because they had to accommodate late check outs at 4pm.

This hotel is more like a Motel, no service at all, no one to assist with our luggage, someone manning the reception is the only service provided. Marriott seems to use this awful mattress toppers which overflow from the sides and takes shape where middle of the bed sinks in, not helpful if you have a back problems. I asked them if they could change my mattress to a more firmer mattress, they said no however offered to move me into another room which had the same type of mattress and mattress topper. I asked if they could remove the mattress top, they said yes however when we got back to our hotel late afternoon, mattress top wasn’t removed, went to reception to ask, I was told housekeeping went home. I went to my room and removed the topper myself. Very poor selection of goods for breakfast, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, 3 types of fruit, 3 types of bread, few cereals. No teaspoons , when asked they told me they run out of teaspoons because they only have few of them and to use tablespoons to mix my coffee, had to ask for serviettes couple of times because they had run out of it. Am surprised that this establishment has Marriott brand and lowers the brands standards. I do not recommend this place and will not stay here again.

Great hotel with a lot of stuff around it for transportation. The staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is very good with lots of options.

Great location and friendly staff. Highly recommend for family with young children
