"An amazing residence with amazing service and staff. On arrival we were greeted by the very helpful (and attractive) Thumee (pronounced "to me"). The whole atmosphere was one of calm and peace. All of the staff went out of their way to be helpful at all times. We had a wonderful dinner cooked in front of us in the big open kitchen/restaurant. Breakfast was of equally high quality . The room was clean and very well appointed, the bed, the best I have ever slept in. We were given a map of the local area and went out for a short drive seeing Zebra, Impala, Wart Hogs & Kudoo. The owner of the property was available at all times and an absolute Gentleman - he even makes a point of being there to say goodbye to all of his guests even if only stay for the one night as we did.. "

"the Location was great and the restaurant staff were friendly and provided us good service, which is unfortunately the two positive parts of our stay. when we arrive, the reception experience was very poor. No Information was given about the lodge or breakfast until I asked, and we were not even accompanied to our room. The condition of the room was disappointing. The shower and floors were dirty to the point where you could not shower without wearing flip flops. Housekeeping was also below standard. During our 2-night stay, the room was not properly cleaned, the bins were not emptied, dishes were not washed properly and both the bathroom and floors remained dirty. Only the beds were made. This was a very disappointing experience."

"This is a truly special place to stay, close to the town, and many restaurants nearby. Very relaxing pool area, and lounge. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, they even did a breakfast pack when we left early for one of our trips. Breakfast is served with pride, wonderful staff and great service. We have now stayed there twice, and will again on our next visit to Phalaborwa. If you want a place that is both comfortable and convenient for all that surrounds you, then choose ISO Bella Vita Guess House."

"I spent two nights at Sunbird before entering Kruger NP. Our room was nice, quite big and located in a beautiful garden full of different plants. Breakfast was yummy, offering wide choice of tea, cereals and banana bread, before a full English breakfast was served. The location is very good, close to supermarkets and to the Kruger NP gate as well. If this is not enough, the point of strength of Sunbird Lodge is Dave, the owner, that was very helpful since I enquired for booking and, once there, gave us advice about restaurants, shops and about the road to the Olifants River cruise. I'll go there again when I'll visit Kruger next and I deeply advise this accommodation."

"This was our first stop on our South Africa trip, and I still cherish the memories. Finding a hotel like this in Kruger was truly beyond my expectations. Initially, I was just drawn to the hotel's beautiful pictures, but its location was amazing. We often saw small animals strolling slowly past the fence, creating a very unique experience. (We were so comfortable we forgot to take more pictures, haha!) Breakfast and dinner were both delicious, with carefully prepared and thoughtful food. The staff were incredibly friendly and genuine, making us feel cared for rather than just being served. The hotel owner gave us many practical and insightful suggestions, which greatly helped with our itinerary. The overall price was very reasonable, offering excellent value for money. This is a place I'd definitely want to return to. Highly recommended!!!"

The staff weren’t friendly nor welcoming, the rooms weren’t entirely clean, play area and swimming pool in poor conditions. One positive thing is that the food from the restaurant is really good (a la carte). The breakfast buffet included in the room price is very limited in options. "

The guide and tracker were great, though the guide could have dialed down the showmanship narration a little. The game reserve has a lot of vegetation, so it is different than one with more wide open areas, but there are plenty of fascinating animals. Definitely family friendly."

"The hotel was amazing! The staff was very kind and helpful at all times! The room was very comfortable and spacious! We were able to see a family of elephants very close to our balcony! It's also possible to see hippos, crocodiles across the river! The game drives were so great! We were able to see many beautiful animals! All the meals were amazing! Chef Phillip was great and made us delicious vegetarian options for our meals! It was really worth it!"

"This was my fourth visit to River Lodge within the Karongwe Game Reserve. Such a special place. River Lodge is beautifully situated beside the Makutsi river. After the recent heavy rains we could view crocodile and hippo from the raised deck as we ate. On previous visits we have been able to see crocodile from the deck but not Hippo. On each visit we have seen the Big 5 within 2 game drives. Karongwe has run a leopard project resulting in an abundant population of leopard within the reserve, always the hardest member of the Big 5 to spot. The food is excellent. The staff are so pleasant and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and well situated."

Every corner reveals something beautiful, and I honestly felt like I needed a few extra pairs of eyes just to take it all in! The attention to detail, the peaceful atmosphere, the luxurious accommodation, and the stunning surroundings combine to create a truly unforgettable experience. Without a doubt, this was the best travel experience my husband, Naas, and I have ever had. We left with grateful hearts, wonderful memories, and a longing to return. Thank you, Alet and Kobus, for creating such a special place. African Boutique Safari Lodge is a true gem, and we cannot recommend it highly enough."

"I was extremely disappointed with the reception I received. When I arrived, the man at reception did not greet me with a smile or even a friendly manner. He bearly glanced at me, gave me a paper to complete my details, and ignored me from there. The lady showed me my room and gave me n slip with the Wi-Fi password. They did not provide any details about breakfast or if and where it is available, even though you pay for bed and breakfast. The room, even though beautiful, only had a ceiling fan in the seating area and nothing near the bed, and it was extremely hot. No windows to open, only a door leading to the veranda. I will not stay there again"
