Camino Verde B&B Monteverde Costa Rica ★★★
"I stayed alone, but the bed was large and the necessary and sufficient facilities were very comfortable. The view was good and I was able to enjoy the nature of Costa Rica up close. In addition to choosing from the 4 menus for breakfast, I was able to get fruits, cornflakes, coffee and juice freely. If I have the opportunity, I would definitely like to stay again. Thank you."
Pension Santa Elena ★★
"Amazing hotel in beautiful town. Delicious breakfast. Convenient parking"
OutBox Inn ★★
"We stayed in this hostel in private room with private bathroom. We stayed in the new area of the hostel, in a fairly bare room, without air conditioning, with windows facing the hostel's ongoing works and various difficulties with hot water. No daily room cleaning. For the amount paid I definitely expected more."
Tityra Lodge ★★
"Very successful stay. Super view from the house. Clean, warm. Good breakfast. Parking available."
Hotel con Corazón Monteverde ★★★
"- That's beautiful."
Cabinas Selva Verde ★★★
"I arrived earlier but owner is so kind to let me check-in. It’s cool at night, so they prepared the blankets. Thanks."
Monteverde Villa Lodge ★★★
Hostel Cattleya - Monteverde, Costa Rica ★
"Great shower. Comfy beds. You can book tours through them same price as anywhere else. But they help you pick the right thing for you and organise it. Great service. Very good value for money. Very sociable. Lots of people in kitchen. Well-equipped. Right next to bus stop for bus from San Jose. Bus stop to Monteverde is a few mins walk away. There are only lockers in the kitchen. And the kitchen is locked til 7am. But many people start their day much earlier. Also means if you need to catch an early morning bus you need to remember to get your stuff from the locker the night before. Kitchen gets yuck when lots of people using it. But that's more guests' fault."
Hotel Cipreses ★★★
"Such a great pleasure to stay here during our holiday across Costa Rica. So welcoming and friendly, this was a wonderful few days in the company of lovely people. A family run hotel, with such care and thoughtfulness. Quiet and set in lovingly maintained grounds. A short, steep at times, walk into town. We had a great room, looking at the gardens. Good breakfasts, and a laundry service. Thoroughly recommend. Thank you and pura vida!"

El Sol Monteverde
"Such a beautiful place to spend a few relaxing days. The views are amazing, especially from the infinity pool. We loved our 2 room cabin; it even had a hammock inside that we hung up. We could see the view from the hammock. The food was amazing as well. You can order breakfast or dinner and they bring it right to your cabin. They also messaged us the day before and asked where we were coming from and our ETA and then sent us a fun playlist to enjoy on the drive. They recently installed air conditioners. I really wish they had screens on the doors and windows because we would have loved to leave our doors and windows open to let in the fresh air, but we didn't want any more bug bites. They also offer a laundry service. You are given a large bag to fill and it costs $25 and they pickup and drop off! A huge bonus since we were having trouble getting some of our clothes to dry from the previous day's rainstorm. Javier and his wife made our stay so enjoyable."
Monteverde Lodge
"Good location, about 3 kilometers to curi cancha and the famous night viewing location. The room was spacious and it was very comfortable to sit on the balcony and drink coffee and listen to birdsong. The bedding is also very comfortable. The restaurant dishes taste good, breakfast is not buffet is a la carte, but each person can order one (including juice), and pay for extra. The soundproofing of the room is not good, and the sound of the corridor and the next door will be noisy."
Green Forest Rustic Houses
"Green Forest was simply beautiful, the place is very close to the center of Monteverde, the houses are equipped with everything you need and the cleanliness is excellent. My partner and I felt safe and calm at all times and the staff was very friendly and pure life. I recommend it 100%"
Koora Hotel by Sandglass
"Amazing view, great service and atmosphere"
Cala Lodge
Hotel & Spa Poco a Poco - Costa Rica
"Beautiful setting, everything was immaculate and the staff very friendly!"
Monteverde Romantic Cabañas 5Minutes Mtv Park
"Amazing tree house lodging on the edge of Monteverde! Beautiful, half mile walk into town along the main road. Wildlife, birds and monkeys visited us at the cabin. We watched fireflies at night from the covered hot tub on the porch. The owners were excellent at communicating, prompt with breakfast delivery and helped us arrange for transportation and reservations for nearby reserve tours and an overnight trip to La Fortuna to take a cooking class with a local Costa Rican family, see sloths and red eye tree frogs, and take a dip in the hot springs. We can’t recommend this lodging enough!!"
El Establo Mountain Hotel
"The room was fully equipped with other facilities and the view was unbeatable. If you want to lie in the room and watch the sunrise, you can close your eyes and go in. The only downside was that the shower water was a bit cold. I wanted to soak and relax, but the water started to get cold before I could even fill the tub."
Mountain Faro Hotel
"We stayed at Mountain faro for two nights. On arrival, we were greeted warmly and was advised of the possible tours in the area. The room was clean and comfortable and has a great shower. The hotel kindly arranged our visit to the butterfly garden and our transport to the cloud forest. Breakfast was enough, and there was a pot of coffee and chilled juice both mornings. Because we visited the cloud forest our final morning and it was wet we asked if it may be possible to keep the room a little longer to shower and warm up on our return and this wasn't a problem at all. Three restaurants and a small store close by, a slight steep hill to the property, but this is the whole of monteverde! "
Historias Lodge
"It was unusually hot when we visited so the room was really unpleasant. We were able to get a fan for the second night which helped a lot. We were in a main floor room that looked at the parking lot so had to keep our curtains closed otherwise we were on full display. As a result, the room felt dark. Due to the normally damp area, there is a mildew/mold smell about and in the linens. Even though it was hot, things didn't dry anyway. The grounds are nice with beautiful flowers. We saw an agouti out back, too. Lots of restaurants in the area. We cabbed back from town as it's all uphill. There is a friendly orange cat who came by our room to hang out, which we really enjoyed!"
Hotel Casa Madonna
"The hotel is well located! Close to the center, stop at the cloud forest right outside the hotel. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience, we were placed in a room of the wrong category, then it took a long time to sort it out and move us. Then the hot water did not work, we were offered to wash in the next room (this is uncomfortable, but better than not washing). What was most upsetting was the staff (one of the boys, the man at the reception, was friendly. But the one who greeted us showed with all his appearance and inaction that we were not welcome here. The girls at breakfast also behave in such a way that it’s scary to eat the food put out for breakfast. Only on the last day there were people (apparently managers) to whom their business was important. I ask you to draw the attention of the hotel owners to this and train your staff to work."
Cabinas El Pueblo B&B Monteverde
"We stayed in a room for three people and had enough space for everyone. The beds were a good size, and there was also enough room for our luggage. The bathroom was relatively small and narrow, but it was clean and perfectly fine for our stay. Since it can get quite cold at night in Monteverde, we appreciated that enough blankets were provided. Free tea and coffee are available throughout the day in the downstairs kitchen. Breakfast can also be arranged by letting the staff know the day before. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They also assisted us with booking activities around Monteverde, which made planning our stay much easier. Overall, Cabinas El Pueblo was a comfortable and convenient place to stay!"
Calathea Lodge Monteverde
Amalú Monteverde
"Hotel was a nice and clean place where they equipped with telescope, soaps etc. and all kinds of helpful kits. However when the hotel called local taxi for me the driver charged me doubled price vs. As it should be. Cannot say it’s hotel’s fault but the service experience is not great from that beginning. Loved owner’s attention to details at home but service can be better"
Bella Vista Lodge
"It was nice to have a cabin all to ourselves, a separate place away from others. It mad it more homey and relaxed. The view from on the hill is nice but it would be better if the cable lines blocked the view. Thankfully a short walk away is the scenic overlook which has several people there at sunset. Jose', the owner, was very helpful with anything we needed. Johnny on the spot. They were able to do our laundry on short notice for a price. The kitchen is well stocked although we only used the coffee maker and refrigerator. They use electric device for the shower which took a few times to get used to how it works. Pay attention when he explains it. The water won't get hot only warm. There was an extra room off the kitchen with a sink and much larger counter for getting ready. The room had a huge area to store luggage and dress in. My husband spent quite a bit of time in the morning in the gazebo reading and drinking his coffee. It's a large gathering area to mingle and watch the sunset. We stayed there for about 8 days so we really got a feel for the area. There were three really good restaurants within walking distance. Tinco's, 506, and Tramonti. Improvements would be to add a lamp in the sleeping area. The overhead lights are a bit harsh and there were two large dogs that would sometimes back late into the night sometimes 10-11:30 PM. At what, who knows. Beware, Montiverde is very windy, wind gusts 27-32 mph. It will sound like there's a big storm at night but you open the drapes in the morning and it's nice and sunny."
