"Our worst stay in Costa Rica. When built, I am sure it was an amazing property. However, after running for a few years, it looks like the management company or the hosts decided not to maintain it, and a lot of things are either not working or on its last legs. The sink was leaking upon our arrival, with a dirty paddle on the floor. There were jungle beasts inside the house (spiders, mosquitoes, beetles and a massive grasshoppery thing) that we kept hunting and dealing with. The water in the shower didn't really get hot, and reading previous reviews, I understand that it's an outstanding issue. To top it all, we had barking dogs on both sides of the property barking all night long, which didn't help with the relaxing atmosphere. Disappointing overall."

"Facilities: The overall facilities are very complete, well-equipped and well maintained, and it is very convenient to use. Hygienic: The rooms and public areas are very clean and tidy, making people feel at ease. Environment: Convenient location, complete surrounding facilities, travel and life are very convenient. Service: The staff service is particularly good, the attitude is warm and meticulous, and the problem can be solved in time."

"I could not recommend Amalu enough to anyone visiting Monteverde! We stayed in Glass Cabin 1.0, and we were so impressed with the attention to detail throughout the home (they even had a little welcome gift for us upon arriving). The views were immaculate — watching sunset is a must while staying here. The location is a bit out of the ways, but the staff was very helpful in arranging taxis for us whenever needed. Definitely would stay here again!"

"We stayed in a two-bedroom cabin (The Sunset house) and were impressed by how spacious, private, and quiet it felt — well-separated from the other cabins, with a lovely view to wake up to. There’s a self-guided hiking trail of a few kilometres on the property, which makes for a pleasant morning activity. For meals, the on-site restaurant Flores y Sabores is a real treat — open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it’s a recently opened spot that serves excellent food and we highly recommended it. A great option if you value peace, space, and good eating."
