Camino Verde B&B Monteverde Costa Rica
"The hotel has a cool decoration. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. It’s a 5 minute walk to the city center and has plenty of parking space. The breakfast is good and tasty. Friendly staff."
Pension Santa Elena
"Amazing hotel in beautiful town. Delicious breakfast. Convenient parking"
OutBox Inn
"This hostel was very welcoming with a nice large open shared space and an outdoor kitchen with a view! My dorm was for 4 beds and the room was large, plenty of space. The staff were really helpful with general questions to helping to schedule a shuttle to get from point a to point b. The location is within a 5 minute walk to a number of good places to eat (the treehouse!) and a bank to get cash. I recommend this place!!! As a solo female traveler I felt safe here 😄"
Tityra Lodge
"We stayed in room Capuchino with great panoramic views. Very quiet location. Next door you can take El Trapiche Tour, if you have in interest in local coffee, chocolate and sugar production."
Hotel con Corazón Monteverde
"- That's beautiful."
Cabinas Selva Verde
"Great location, a few uphill steps away from the heart of Monteverde. Therefore, it’s quiet at night, unlike many places here where reviews complain of barking dogs keeping them up at night. This is a family run operation— the mother or grandmother comes in every morning to cook you a very frugal breakfast. Not very personable, but efficient. They gave us a free upgrade to a larger room, with an ocean view balcony. Not cheap."
Monteverde Villa Lodge
Hostel Cattleya - Monteverde, Costa Rica
"I almost want to keep this place a secret, because the prices on some of the rooms are way out of line for what you get, in the best way! For 18 bucks, you get a private room with two beds, comfortable mattresses, private bathroom, linens towels and all, and sparkling clean at that. No breakfast, but there's a kitchen open till 10PM. Parking too. Is it perfect? No. The shower temp fluctuated around 32-33 C, and not really hotter than that. Pillows- not the best in the world. But this is such minor stuff. For the price, this might be the best deal not only in town, but maybe in all of Costa Rica."

Hotel & Spa Poco a Poco - Costa Rica
"The hotel was comfortable but nothing magical. The staff are helpful and the facilities work but aren’t in perfect condition."
El Sol Monteverde
"El Sol came highly recommended to us and the reviews we read were all very positive. We booked El Sol as we were looking for somewhere special to celebrate my birthday. Siân arranged our booking and she and Javier were very informative and communicative. Javier had the room decorated for my birthday, which was a wonderful surprise. We stayed in Alice’s Sun. The room is bright and colourful with the most amazing view. There was a relaxation net attached to the terrace/balcony, a spa bath and a table with chairs for spending time outside. We were unlucky with the weather but it didn’t spoil our time as we’d planned on doing nothing but relaxing. We had dinner brought to our room one night. Breakfast can also be brought to your room. It was all fabulous. El Sol also have their own coffee! I agree with another comment re fly screens. We left our door open for air and it was like we were holding auditions for A Bug’s life (the sequel) Thank you for a wonderful stay."
El Establo Mountain Hotel
"The room was fully equipped with other facilities and the view was unbeatable. If you want to lie in the room and watch the sunrise, you can close your eyes and go in. The only downside was that the shower water was a bit cold. I wanted to soak and relax, but the water started to get cold before I could even fill the tub."
Monteverde Lodge
"Good location, about 3 kilometers to curi cancha and the famous night viewing location. The room was spacious and it was very comfortable to sit on the balcony and drink coffee and listen to birdsong. The bedding is also very comfortable. The restaurant dishes taste good, breakfast is not buffet is a la carte, but each person can order one (including juice), and pay for extra. The soundproofing of the room is not good, and the sound of the corridor and the next door will be noisy."
El Nido Lodge
"Friendly staff, but keep in mind that reception isn't always open. Even so, thanks to the cleaning lady, we were able to leave our luggage in one of the rooms that had already been cleaned. There are no hairdryers in the rooms, but you can request one at reception and return it as soon as you're finished. There's a shared kitchen that's just okay. There are games in the kitchen."
Hotel Don Taco
"Hotel where you sleep very well and good attention"
Hotel Casa Madonna
"We left at once after seeing the room - and an alternative room, that was offered us after we declined the first one. Many of the hotel’s rooms are located on basement level. No windows. Tiny small and dirty rooms. But the worst part was the smell. Mould and fungus. Bathrooms smell terribly. We would not risk sleeping in that. So we left and found easily nice and affordable accommodation elsewhere."
Mi Casa Su Casa Monteverde
"The accommodation car park is very close-by. We were very warmly greeted by our host, Sergio, who helped us take our luggage to our rooms. The en-suite rooms were well maintained, very clean and comfortable. He explained about breakfast arrangements, etc. Throughout our stay, Sergio provided numerous recommendations of what we might like to visit, where to eat and also helping us with bookings. It is difficult to imagine a better host. The breakfasts were excellent and he definitely added tremendous value to our visit. A big thank you to Sergio and Katia!"
Amalú Monteverde
"Hotel was a nice and clean place where they equipped with telescope, soaps etc. and all kinds of helpful kits. However when the hotel called local taxi for me the driver charged me doubled price vs. As it should be. Cannot say it’s hotel’s fault but the service experience is not great from that beginning. Loved owner’s attention to details at home but service can be better"
Hotel Flor de Bromelia
Cabinas Capulin & Farm
"The cabinas are all sited to have private views of the forest. We stayed as a family of four. The lon veranda looked over the tops of the canopy into the small private reserve which is part of this complex of self catering cabinas. We saw motmot hawks parrots toucan, squirrel and hummingbirds all over breakfast from the veranda. Access to the trails into the cloud forest direct from the cabina, 800m of trails on your doorstep The night walk with Brandon on site was excellent: very knowledgeable: lots of frogs, toucan (two types) porcupine The kitchen was well appointed, bathrooms clean a d lots of water and comfortable beds, WiFi good"
