Los Pinos Cabins & Reserve

This was our third stay at Los Pinos. We find it to be a relaxing and beautiful environment, and I especially like that we can get some fresh herbs and vegetables from the hydroponic gardens at the top of the property. The grounds are beautiful and if take the trail to the top of the property there is a lookout deck with an incredible view. This time we were in Cabin 12. The bed was comfortable and the shower hot. The kitchenette is well-equipped — two plate induction burners; coffee pot; toaster oven; electric frying pan, rice cooker and good sized fridge. And, the knives are actually sharp! (Not always the case in rental places!) After 4 weeks of traveling it is nice to just eat in for some meals vs going out. I got a big bunch of green leaf lettuce, mint, cilantro, and chives from the hydroponic gardens to use with our meals. This cabin has a deck out front with picnic table, hammock, hammock chair and chairs. It was a relaxing spot at the end of the day, and we had coatis wander through, and Lesson’s Mot Mots perch outside the cabin. The people are simply the best. Everyone is so helpful and friendly, and I like that by staying here we are supporting a locally owned place.

We stayed 2 nights here and enjoyed being in our own cabin and the nature around. We saw some interesting birds right from the deck and enjoyed relaxing in the hammock. Has a convenient kitchen and a lot of room for our family of 5. Convenient location close to all the activities.

This is a well run environmentally aware place to stay with beautiful lodges in the rain forest, trails around the area and close to Monteverde village. The staff are really friendly a much welcome and efficient laundry service offered. The reception were able to book our guided trips up to the hanging bridges which enabled us to see wildlife we wouldn't otherwise have seen . The guides are extremely knowledgeable about the origins of the cloud forest, the ecosystems that differ between primary and secondary rainforest and explained how climate change will affect the cloud forest in the next few years

Absolutely wonderful place. Photos do not do justice to how cool this place is - you have to experience it. The staff was excellent - helpful and caring. Would love to visit again.

This was a great, accessible place for us to lay our heads for a night after hiking in the Monteverde Cloud Forest!

Los Pinos was my favorite place we stayed in Costa Rica. The staff are wonderful! They really made us feel so welcome, and they were extremely responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful with setting up excursions. The property is beautiful, and the cabins are tucked away in the woods so it is very serene, private, and quiet. Cabins are very clean and well kept. We loved the location and walkability around Monteverde. There are several restaurants just down the street, as well as a bank, bakery, and market. There are nice sidewalks throughout town, and it has a very safe, walkable feel. Big thanks to Marlene and Ana for making our trip so special. We love Los Pinos!
