This hotel is amazing! We loved it, the only thing to note is that it’s quite a journey from Ella (around 45 mins). I would suggest staying at Ella for 1 night or so and experiencing that, then visiting and unwinding here. The staff, food and room were all fantastic.

Shame on you Jetwing hotels, for ripping off guests with 30% hidden add-ons and charging for water at breakfast!!! August 2025 The hotel itself is of 4 star quality and 5 star service, but unfortunately it uses the same rip-off tactics like the Jetwing hotel in Colombo. The hotel adds a whooping 30% onto their listed food and drink items. First they add 10% service charge onto the food/drink bill and then another 18% VAT (even on top of the 10% service charge). What is despicable about this practice is the fact that the 10% service charges don't end up with the staff, who would more than deserve it, but at the same time, the food/drinks staff don't get any tips from customers, as the 30% rip-off charge seems more than enough for a guest to pay. Moreover, the hotel charges for fresh water at breakfast, although the breakfast was included in our booking. When we arrived at the breakfast table the waiter came around to take our orders and we ordered some coffee, juice and WATER. It was never mentioned to us that everything was included in the breakfast BUT THE WATER! At check-out I was handed a bill bor two bottles of water for 800 Rupees (the same bottle that can be bought for 100 Rupees in any shop) with an add-on of 30% RIP-OFF CHARGES. This means we paid 2080 Rupees (= €6 for two bottles of water) which matches prices for water at European airports. This is a shameful practice which we have not encountered in any other 4 or 5 star hotel on our 12 day journey through this wonderful country. Therefore I would urge any travellers to Sri Lanka to simply boycott Jetwing hotels and report on Tripadvisor any other hotels that might employ such a practice. This is only for the benefit of the fat-cat hotel owners, but not the excellent service staff at the hotels.
