"We stayed here only for one night. Our welcome was fabulous - cold Towels and a lovely drink after a long journey. Gernot was very helpful with everything we needed, organising our jeep to the safari the next morning, and our dinner for that night. The whole place was very clean, and everyone very friendly. We highly recommend a stay here to feel right in the jungle and immerse yourself!"

"Wild Glamping Gal Oya was our second Thema Group property (after Knuckles Wild Glamping), near the Gal Oya National Park which is centred around the 70 year old Senanayake reservoir. The resort features 5 family tents and 15 doubles, each under thatch or timber roof with heated showers and flush WC. The family tents have two rooms, and should sleep 4 comfortably. Alarm clocks are not needed as the local peacocks do an admirable job! There is mains power but no WiFi, and only intermittent mobile coverage so just lock away your phone and reconnect with life. The property has a generous pool with sunbeds, pool towels and sunshades, surrounded by lawn and next to the central bar and restaurant area and the reception. On arrival guests are allocated a host who looks after them, ours was Pathun, a trainee naturalist. He conducted our farm walk to introduce the concept - the property is part of a working farm, with both the local community and the indigenous Vedda people actively involved. We had family villa 15, which we think has the best position - set back (with 14) from the central facilities, with views over paddy fields and sunsets over Monkey Mountain. We undertook 4 activities - a boat safari, a jungle walk with the Vedda, a boat trip on the local village reservoir and a trek up Monkey Mountain, all of which Pathun accompanied us on. All were worthwhile, it's worth noting that the Monkey Mountainm trek is quite demanding and requires a certain level of fitness, but the views are stunning. The staff were all welcoming and friendly, and we must make special mention of Pravithra, who seemed to be everywhere from the bar, restaurant to the spa (great ayurvedic massage!), and the kitchen team who produced a wonderful range of dishes. WGG is a wonderful resort for a 3-4 day escape, with or without family."

"Our return to Leopard Safaris in Yala was nothing short of exceptional. Having loved it previously, this camp was the main reason we came back to Sri Lanka and it more than lived up to our expectations. This time, we were the only guests, giving us the entire camp and a truly personal experience. As on our previous visit 2 years ago, the service was impeccable - thoughtful, attentive, and heartfelt, but never intrusive. We enjoyed 4 private safaris, encountering a sloth bear, a leopard, a cobra, and so much more - exactly what we hoped for. The guided nature walk around camp, learning about the smaller creatures, was a delight, especially for the children. A lovely touch was planting a tree which was a meaningful nod to their environmental ethos. The guides also gave my children ranger certificates for completing a fun activity around camp - something they were both very pleased with! The food was outstanding - an array of traditional Sri Lankan dishes we all enjoyed, and our final night’s barbecue under the stars was truly magical. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and so passionate about the camp’s values and ecology. While the camp was quiet due to travel disruptions, we still received top-tier service. It was simply perfect, and we can’t wait to return again."

The staff have no respect whatsoever for customers, completely lacking even the basics of hospitality. The so-called welcome drink was not fresh and literally undrinkable. The food was horrible, poorly prepared, and not even sufficient for the number of guests. It was an absolute embarrassment. If you value your time, money, and dignity, do not choose this place under any circumstances. Go here only if you have no other option—otherwise, you’ll deeply regret it."

"Visit was with my wife and my 6y old kid. It’s close to katharagama kiriwehara and the kovila. and it’s in the center between katharagama dewalaya and wedasitikanda. So either way is the best spot for both location visitors. Room is specious,super clean & cozy. noticed that the management concentrated even for small necessary details should include. We had Our dinner and Breakfast at an outstanding location, it was very simple and delicious. hats off to the chef and the staff. The Manager Inbaraj and the Staff are very friendly and kind. They have a beautifully maintained paddies and eco garden near the premises maintained under Mr Das expertise hands. "Very good Safari and accommodation experience! You can contact the hotel directly through WhatsApp before check-in, and they will send the meeting point address in advance to pick you up. Although the reservation is a tent room, it is actually a wooden house. The air conditioning and hot water are sufficient. The food cooked by Promod Chef is considered to be very delicious in Sri Lanka👍👍 The Safari on the second day was booked directly with the hotel. The guide Achi was very helpful. He located the traces of the Ceylon leopard twice by listening to the sound. So lucky!"
