Grand Tamarind Lake ★★★★
"This is our second stay at this hotel returning after just 10 months . Our experience with them we can honestly say was even better ( we didn’t think that was possible before our return ) than when we stayed with them in January 2025 . The location , the food and comfort was excellent but the crowning glory of this hotel is their staff who will go to great lengths to provide their guests with an extremely comfortable stay . It felt like coming home . Thank you for a lovely stay !"
Gal Oya Lodge ★★★★
"Truly special place. We lucky to be upgraded to a signature bungalow which had its own plunge pool with a great view! The bungalow was huge and immaculate, all made of natural materials. Loved the activities especially the smaller ones around the lodge like the night walk and even going a gentle bike ride around the surrounding village. Best place to unwind and relax."
Centauria Wild ★★★★
"We had a wonderful stay at Centuria Wild in Sri Lanka. The accommodation has a traditional, slightly older charm, which really adds to the authentic experience of being surrounded by nature. What truly made our stay stand out was the exceptional service. The staff, and especially the manager Damitha, treated us with genuine courtesy and respect, consistently going above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable and comfortable. Our room had a beautiful view overlooking the lake, which made for a peaceful and relaxing setting. Although we didn’t get a chance to use the pool due to returning late from our safari, it looked pleasant and inviting. We were also impressed with the gym facilities—the space was generous, with more than enough equipment to enjoy a proper workout. Overall, a memorable stay with warm hospitality that really made a difference."
Jungle Paradise ★★★
"ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. This is the best place I have ever stayed. And I travel a lot. We stayed in villa 5 and it was exceptional. Very comfortable and clean. The food was amazing. The staff could not do enough for you. So helpful, friendly, arranging safari (the guide was fantatsic) and cars for us. I felt like royalty here. I cannot reccomend it enough. The location we right on a stunning jungle. I did not want to leave. Absolutely faultless stay. Would reccomend! 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "
Kynrock Hotels & Resorts ★★★★★
"Rooms were great, Beds very comfortable."
Jetwing Kaduruketha ★★★★★
"Pros: Quiet and private environment, beautiful scenery, good quality breakfast and room service, good service. Cons: Arrived around 3pm, and waited for a full hour to check in, almost collapsed. The room has no air conditioning and simple facilities. Open bathroom, don't take a shower at night, it will be cold."
River Cottage ★★★
"A lovely warm welcome with a delicious cup of Ceylon tea when we arrived. The rooms have everything you could possibly need (except a hair dryer, but in nature who cares?) Al fresco dining in natural surroundings with a delicious homemade meal."
Kalu's Hideaway Udawalawe ★★★
"Boutique safari lodge owned by famous World Cup Sri Lankan cricketer Romesh Kaluwitharana. He is present at the hotel ensuring the guests are happy. He has created a relaxed and charming atmosphere with a cosy bar and restaurant. Two pools overlooking the river are a good size. They are growing their own organic fruits and vegetables which is served for all meals and there is a butterfly garden which is very enchanting. They are expanding so there is some new buildings that are being worked on but there was no noise or disturbances. Very friendly and welcoming. A great base for Uladawale NP."
Governor's Camp Udawalawe ★★
"There’s something truly special about kayaking on the lake at Governor's Camp Udawalawe as the sun goes down. The water is so calm, and the sky fills with stunning colors, creating this peaceful atmosphere where it feels like the world slows down just for me. Gliding across the lake, I felt a deep connection to nature, totally immersed in the moment. And the experience doesn’t stop there—the food here is amazing! Every meal is packed with authentic Sri Lankan flavors that fit perfectly with the wilderness vibe. The staff are so friendly and attentive, making me feel completely at home. From sunset kayaking to delicious meals and the warm hospitality, my time at Governor's Camp Udawalawe was unforgettable."

Hantara Udawalawa
"Very quaint and secluded property very close to the safari park. Individual cabins were very spacious, great AC, private porch for sitting and the outdoor shower and bathroom was very cool! The staff were very friendly and accommodating as well. There is not much to do out in the wilderness but after a no day of safari it was nice to go to Hantara to relax."
Big Game - Yala By Eco Team
"Amazing experience, nice people, good dinner next to the campfire and a great safari, I really recomand it"
Elephant Rest Udawalawa
"We are a family of 4 adults and stayed here for one night having travelled down rom Ella. We loved it and really appreciated the swimming pool to cool down. This is brilliant value, close to the park entrance, tastefully decorated, great food and helpful staff who organised the safari for us. Would recommend."
Lavendish Okrin Hotel
"Wifi is poor. Hot water in bathroom takes long time to come. There is a bar but not any varieties"
La Pentera
"We spend 3 nights in the Tree House and it was just a magical and pure moment. The atmosphere is quiet and you are sharing amazing moments with new people. The people and the food was game changer in the adventure."
Lavendish Tamarind Lifestyle
"Its a bit run down though I was advised that it was just recently acquired and that they are going through refurbishment soon. All in all, convenient location and the food was really good."
Yala Safari Camping
"Overall, it's good. Children pay an additional $50 per person in the store. Remember to turn off all the lights when you leave the room, otherwise you will be full of bugs when you come back at night! All 6 rooms we checked in that day were Chinese. The boss was very enthusiastic and all food and drinks were included. I drank more than ten bottles of Coke at dinner and thought there would be an additional charge. For the safari on the second day, the boss asked for a price of 100 US dollars per person, which was much more expensive than outside. For convenience, I booked it with the boss. We will set off at 5:30 the next morning, and the boss will bring sandwiches and drinks, and enjoy them at the beach at the end."
Funky Leopard Safari Lodge Bordering Yala National Park
"The location seemed good… at first… But we had a series of problems on our first night. We had booked two nights. The conditions were such that we left… and they refused to refund us for the second night. The evening meal, prepared outside the hotel, raised some doubts… and indeed, during the night, my wife and I became ill. The children didn't eat anything. Tiny bugs were falling on our table and in our hair. No fan… it was a bad start. There was no air conditioning as advertised on TripAdvisor. Only fans. One of them was broken in our room. They gave us a pedestal fan… which wouldn't stay upright and was just blowing air onto the floor… it was 45°C in the room. We had planned a day of rest and swimming the next day… impossible, the pool was green… We left, and according to our “friendly” contact, they would find a solution to refund us for the second night… which was later refused, and the payment was taken entirely on the card. Perhaps the worst hotel experience ever :( By far the worst in Sri Lanka…"
