Atlantic Beach Hotel Newport

The room was not ready at check-in time. It wasn’t available until 4:30 and no one was apologetic. “We’ve been busy” was the reason. Although convenient, the place is in need of updating. The facilities are tired, the toilet rocked, the bathtub faucet lever was initially VERY difficult to turn on and off. We had to call for help with it. Would not stay again.

Would not reccomend the place. Old and tired. For $500 a night we had a suite with one bathroom size window owerlooking back yard of the loud bar, brocken lights and hard to operate shower .

When we arrived, we thought the property was abandoned. There was no one in the parking lot. There was sagging lattice work on the side with water leaking from a room near the parking area. There was a bad smell when we got out of the car. This is an old Quality Inn that has been painted and updated, but it is still an old Quality Inn. The rooms are very bare and sparse. The doors slam and it is noisy and very bright while sleeping. The bed was comfortable. For the quality of this property, it is very overpriced. It is near the beach area. The other building had “balconies,” but it was a regular motel balcony to get to the door with a small table and choirs sitting outside your room.

Stayed here for one night on August 12th. Great location and good looking from the outside. Really stayed because the rooms weren’t large. A king bed and a queen bed with a 3/4 wall between them sounded awesome when traveling with older teenagers. Room was ok pool was inside and not heated. Bathroom was clean. Then it was time to sleep. Gave kids the king bed husband and I took queen. Kids went to bed first around 11:30 pm. I pull the covers down on the queen bed and the right side springs were completely broken!! The bed was collapsed into the box spring!! Go out to the front desk at midnight and she says she can move us to another room two doors down. I said can my husband and I just move kids were already sleeping. She said she cannot do that we would have to move all our stuff!! Are you kidding me! At midnight. My husband would not do it. We stayed in the room. We were not even offered a cot. Needless to say it was an awful night sleep. We slept on the same side of the bed. Next morning when checking out we mentioned it to the new person at the desk and she did not even apologize!! She said they would take care if it. I was too tired to fight. We were offered nothing. Should of fought more to get the other room for just my husband and I. How can they not know about this bed. It just says one thing that the staff does not communicate to the management and that the management does not check on the staff. There was a hotel right next to them I will not be returning to this place.
