"The estate is conveniently located, about a 10 minute drive from the nearby town of Maynes and about a half-hour drive from Dublin. The estate was founded in the 17th century and has a strong sense of history. We stayed there for several days, and the room facilities were relatively comprehensive and the hygiene was very good. Especially the female owner Angela and male owner Malcolm are very enthusiastic. They introduced us to interesting attractions nearby, and their two dogs are too friendly! "It is a lovely hotel. However the service was lacking slightly for a 5 star hotel. For example, they were aware the tv was broken in most rooms, but there did not seem to be an impetus to fix them. The door to our bedroom was not working properly and there were smaller cosmetic issues most particularly noticed in the gym. It was a lovely stay, but there definitely is room for improvement. "

"It looks like a private manor in the countryside, covering a large area. The rooms are in a row of independent houses next to the main building. The room facilities are old and there may be spiders. It is not a standard star hotel standard, but it has the characteristics of a country villa and is full of fresh travel experience. If we’d have known we’d have chosen a different hotel as it was so loud from our room and we’d just booked a night to chill out. In the morning one staff member at breakfast wasn’t helpful at all when we asked to confirm if our booking included breakfast and he came across as rude. "
