Riu Palace Mauritius - All Inclusive - Adults Only

Exceptionally clean with pleasant staff who can’t do enough for you. We upgraded on arrival to the Elite Club, and can honestly say, it’s worth every penny. Not only do you get a great sea view room, you get VIP access to the specialty restaurants. The hotel itself is around 1hr 20 minutes from the airport along the south coast road, and is fairly breezy at this time of year. The temperature was perfect for me, around 27 degrees C through the day. I’ve come home with the best tan ever, as I usually sit in the shade due to prickly heat. My only slight negative was the spa. RIU hotels in Cape Verde have great spas but this hotel doesn’t have a hot tub or sauna. The food in the main restaurant can also be cool at times, although everything is fully cooked. Maybe a microwave or two stuck on the walls would help? I did a couple of trips from the hotel which included a speedboat trip and south West Island tour. Both were great and gave me a truly memorable holiday.

I stayed at the Riu Palace in September. Located 1.5 hrs from the airport by taxi. Location is great if you don’t mind it being extremely windy. It’s lovely when it’s hot! On the beach you really notice the extreme wind but if you walk 5 mins to the right towards the Regis or Lux hotel and it’s like you are on a different island. Beach is nice but bring shoes as it’s all broken coral so can be a bit painful for delicate feet. The surrounding area is pretty, walk to the left and you get to the entrance of the Le Morne mountain, takes a good 45 min. Passing the Riu Turquoise hotel and watersport area. The kite surfers are amazing and I’ve honestly never seen so many in one area. We stayed in the Elite Club and that was lovely. The room 4001 was good even though we moved the following morning due to having sewer/drain flies in our room. That was disgusting and even after spraying the room numerous times they would still appear and that was a big no for us. The new room 4013 was ok but with some flaws that you wouldn’t really expect from a hotel that only opened in May 2024. The room was spacious with charging points on both sides of the bed and lots of plug sockets in the room, plugs by the way, the shower had not much power and the furniture looked already dated and some draws were difficult to open. Lots of hanging space and if you need more hangers you can request those. Clean towels daily and if you want your bed changed you can leave a leaflet on the bed and they will provide clean sheets. One thing that we noticed is that the cleaners always left the patio doors unlocked. Every afternoon when we returned we had to lock the doors. Wasn’t concerned about theft but not good practice and could be a concern. The mini bar stocked up daily with water, coke,fanta and sprite. They also provide snacks like KitKat, pringles and peanuts. The Elite pool area is well looked after by the lovely female attendant whose name I can’t recall but she kept that area spotless and fresh towels and flowers on the beds every morning. No need to reserve a bed as there are plenty of sun loungers. The food was very good so much to choose from and if you get fed up with the buffet you can try the specialist restaurants, Krystal(fusion restaurant) Kaori( Asian restaurant) Steak house and an Indian restaurant. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The entertainment isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but the staff try their best and you can always bring some games. The music in the bar/ lounge area was nice some evenings live music and other evenings a dj. Thought the set up at the sega entertainment area was strange. Tables and chairs all the way in the back and then loads of chairs only in the front. So the back was full with guests sitting on a table and the front was empty not very nice for the staff that were trying their best to interact with the guests. WoW, WoW, WoW What an incredible island & What an incredible hotel. I love the Riu Palace brand & this hotel is the best yet. It's setting is sublime, beautiful soft sand beach, clear turquoise waters & the stunning Le Morne as a back drop. Jaw dropping! The Staff here are incredible. Such beautiful, warm, friendly and happy people. Everyone, gardeners, cleaners, security right through to the service staff were always warm and welcoming. The housekeeping staff were incredible. Never seen such a clean & sparkly hotel. Food was amazing, always appealing, always fresh & incredibly tasty. Lots of options and just beautiful. I cannot find anything at all to say "could have been better " . My only negative is that I had to leave Most definitely going back next year

Amazing service! We love hospitable and kind staff. The general manager assisted us with any requests we had. Especially Prachi and Gavesh from the elite club bar are amazing and went above and beyond to ensure we never had any wants. Perfect customer service

I had the best time at this resort. I was on a much needed break and ended up taking a last minute seal at the Riu Palace hotel. It truly was such a great week. From the moment we arrived to the time we left we had world class service. An extra special mention to Smita at reception who made our stay so special and went out of her way for us. We got a room change (due to a misunderstanding, as it was my brother and I and were not a couple, we wanted dofferent beds) and it was NO PROBLEM. ) I also can't handle resort that feels like I have restrictions and places I'm not allowed to enter. At Riu Palace hotel we were looked after like absolute royalty. Their attention to detail and amazing staff and facilities were incredible and i would will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you so so much for the magical stay.
