We were part of a tour group of 17 people staying for the last week of our two week stay. The hotel is visually stunning, with lots of restaurant choices, good sized pools, and a beach / bar/ lounge area to dream of. Sunsets on the beach sipping gin & tonic was a memory maker. On the positive side: - Our room was a family room just off the main block with garden views. It was very spacious with a fab balcony to watch birds, fruit bats and even a troupe of monkeys. The restaurant food quality and choices were excellent, you could always get a space. The bars were great, especially the one by the beach of an evening. The grounds were stunning and so well kept. and lastly, the hotel staff were simply amazing, so very friendly and helpful, I am struggling to recall another hotel i have been to anywhere in the world thats delivered a better service. Thanks guys. On the negative (just to be fair) :- there were just two issues. The rooms all had steps in them by design. People with mobility issues need to be aware of that. Also they designed for some odd reason open windows between the bedroom and toilet/shower area, with rattan vertical blinds to act as some for of privacy. Well firstly they were see-through and secondly did not stop light at night. If you are traveling with a friend, factor that into your decision. How was that a clever idea? Secondly, they really need to do more to stop birds entering the buffet area. The birds regularly fly around the food and I witnessed bird excrement on stacked dinner plates and birds (well mainly mynah birds) snacking on bread and fruit when people were not around. They had a guy walking around with a white flag to scare them off but they were less than enthusiastic and quite frankly ineffective. Its not a criticism in any way, but there is nothing to walk to outside the hotel so factor in taxi fares or book trips to go sight seeing/shopping. That said, it probably applies to all the 4/5* hotels in Mauritius
