This is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff are lovely and very helpful, the two different rooms I stayed in (one with the pool and one with the jacuzzi both in caves) were spectacular and the restaurant food was lovely too. Great central location and beautiful view of the sassi. I can’t wait to come back here and I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough - I absolutely loved it.

Stayed here for 2 nights recently, fabulous view overlooking the Sassi. Room was lovely although a little tight, but that's to be expected. Access to the hotel is restricted, mostly on foot, but that didn't deter us. We had dinner on our first evening, seated on the terrace with spectacular views as darkness fell. Breakfast setting equally spectacular though there was a huge abundance of sweet treats present. Breakfast in Italy is definitely a slow paced experience. Reception staff were excellent to deal with, so engaging at all times. Highly recommended hotel.

We had the most beautiful stay at Palazzo Del Duca, large rooms, huge comfortable bed. Beautiful breakfast and great location. Very luxurious, wish we could have stayed longer.

I chose this hotel attracted by the great reviews and photos. It’s located nearby of the heart of the Sassi of Matera, among typical little alleys and streets, very close to the city center. The photos don’t do justice to this wonderful hotel, which stands out for its quietness and the quality of the services offered, impeccable welcoming, abundant breakfast (though starting at 8 a.m. might be a bit late for business travelers. Despite our request to have it earlier, the staff were extremely accommodating and welcomed us in an excellent way). I highly recommend room 301, as shown in the photos: although it’s not in the main building, it offers a stunning view with a lovely balcony overlooking the Sassi. Overall, an excellent experience. I would gladly come back!

This hotel is exceptional. The staff are very helpful. The rooms are amazing, The food at the restaurant is wonderful and breakfast is amazing. The options are outstanding. We booked a room that is a partial cave, it was very cool. The showers and baths were great. The bed very comfortable.

Our short stay at Palazzo del Duca was superb. Matera is a truly beautiful town and the location of the hotel was stunning. It combined perfectly the old stone, clifftop dwelling with the modern comforts of well run hotel. The staff were excellent from the welcome drinks on arrival to the assistance with luggage on departure. Our room, which was separate from the main hotel was fantastic. We had a private patio with stunning views to the old town which in the evening was quite magical. The hotel arranged car parking and transfer to and from the hotel which was very helpful. They also booked a 2 hour walking tour of the town for us. The guide was from an old Matera family and gave a personal insight into the life in Matera pre 1960. This too was superb. We loved our stay and hope to come back.

One of the best if not the best hotel in Matera. We just spent wonderful four days in Matera staying in this hotel . We had a room with a huge terrace #204 . Not only the room was large and comfortable but the view from the terrace was unforgettable and worth all the money. Plentiful breakfast in the cave and excellent service makes this hotel a five star. Thank you Martina for helping us and answering all the questions. Defenetly recommend staying here
