Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Mankato

I rarely write reviews for hotels and rarely complain. I read them quite quite frequently and when I'm trying to book a hotel for my family. I need to share my experience to spare others from what from what happened at our stay at this hotel. We discovered that the sheets were not changed between visits. Evidence of this includes blood spots on the sheets and once we pulled down the covers there was a tag from a new pair of pants within the sheets. Of course, I went and got new sheets from the front desk when that was discovered and put them on myself. The next morning I addressed this with the manager on duty and he told me that was not possible that there was blood on the sheets. I offered to go get them and show him. He became very rude. I asked for half off my stay. I thought that was being generous since we decided to stay at the hotel rather than leave after this disgusting discovery. He told me he could do 20% off. I explained that I did not feel that was appropriate given that I had to change the sheets myself because they were not changed which is a basic expectation of a hotel. He then proceeded to tell me to get out and that I needed to leave now. I was calm and respectful during this entire conversation and was even keeping my voice quiet so other guests in the lobby would not hear what I was saying. On top of this horrible customer service, all the towels and sheets had stains on them including the clean ones handed to me from the front desk. I would not stay here because if you have a problem it will not get fixed and you will not be compensated. On top of this they charged us more for the room than it was booked for so now I'm working with my credit card company for the fraud they are committing.

Rooms smell musty, owner was creepy and aggressive got upset because we needed to use towels to clean up water in our room. Tried to charge us $150 and accused us of stealing when there’s literally cameras in the hallway which we were fully aware of.

I have been a business traveler for 30 years and stayed at many hotels and I can say this customer service was one of the worse. I had a reservation for one guest and I brought my daughter and wife along and they charged me $ 15 per extra person. I did a quote with my app and also their direct website and neither one charged for additional guests and I showed the desk agent and they did not care and did not want to listen. They offered to give my money back and go somewhere else but it was late in the evening and we had to wake up early the next day. There was no information about additional guest charges and where did this $ 15 come from? The service desk agent just said either you pay or go somewhere else and I do not think that is good customer service if you want to have you come back later or refer to other travel partners. I will not be using this chain again in my travels.

Very clean and quiet, great breakfast, good water pressure in shower, friendly staff

The be had a noticeable dip in the middle. The pillows where heavy, flat and hard, indicating old.The tub was not in great shape with a noticeable seal problem. The bathroom towels were ragged. We had to ask for a different ice bucket, because that wasn't even clean.
