I am well aware that I booked a relatively cheap place at dormitels ermita but what I experienced was beyond terrible is just straight up not livable.

I quickly found the hostel on the map. It is located near the United Station metro station. That's where the advantages end. The hostel is closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., meaning you won't be able to hang out at night in the entertainment venues. The sockets for charging phones are in the lobby, which is very inconvenient because you have to constantly watch for theft. They don't give you anything except bed linen. No towels, no soap or shampoo. It's okay to spend 1-2 nights, otherwise look for other options.

The dormitory was reportedly full when I checked in and the receptionist quickly offered a choice to put me up at a sister branch nearby, which I accepted. The bed was basic and clean. The restroom can improved improved in terms of cleanliness, but considering the high utilization I can accept.
Overall, I recommend Dormitel Ermita for a quick stay in Manila.
