I wasn't sure about staying on at The Nush at first that rainy day as the access is up some stairs and ***** a village path...until I sat by my window with a cup of tea, absorbing the evershifting view of peaks and slopes with the sounds of village life as a soundtrack. Add the always available hot water, generous room sizes, all a traveler and remote worker needs and I was hooked. Hosts Swetha and Bhanu are genuinely wonderful people with great conversation or space respecters as per your needs. Food is good, experience is awesome! You KNOW you're in the mountains but with the comforts of home. Being a rural area with difficult terrain, the power sometimes cuts off for a bit and soon comes back. Old Manali town is easy to reach by tuktuk or cab ( I paid between 150 to 400 rupees) or a fair walk with two steep gradients ***** the main road. Beds are cosy, toileries and towels provided, and laundry service is available with notice. I missed The Nush as soon as I left, not kidding!
