I have always held Makkah dear to my heart, and this hotel has been a place my family has stayed at before with very good experiences. Pullman ZamZam Makkah is in a beautiful location, and in the past, it has lived up to the high expectations one has for a 5-star property. Unfortunately, our most recent stay was disappointing compared to previous visits. We had booked the hotel for my family, expecting the same quality as before. However, there were several issues: The lifts were malfunctioning, which meant my family often had to use the stairs. Combined with the walking required around the Haram, this became very exhausting, especially for those not in the best of health. The toilets in the room stopped flushing, and my family had to use public toilets for ablution and even showering — something we never imagined we would have to do in such a highly rated hotel. The room itself was very dusty, and the pillows also had visible dust on them, which raised hygiene concerns. When a family member requested water to be sent to the room, the request was not fulfilled, and unfortunately, it felt as though it was ignored. It saddens me to write this, as this hotel has been a part of pleasant memories for us before, and we expected the same level of service and comfort. For a 5-star hotel, especially at the cost it commands, we had hoped for better upkeep, prompt service, and more care for guests’ needs. I sincerely hope that management will take this feedback seriously, as Pullman ZamZam Makkah has the potential to deliver an exceptional experience — something that befits the blessed city it is in.
