"Great welcome from the host and a perfect location for families with children. The kids loved the go-karts, the shaded playground, the large sandbox for endless construction projects, the indoor games, the farm animals, and, above all, the huge amount of space to run and play safely. For adults, it’s just as enjoyable. There are several relaxing spots where you can sit in the sun with a book or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings while watching the birds flying around the farm. The castle has a wonderful atmosphere and beautifully combines over 400 years of history with modern comfort. Despite its historic character, everything is exceptionally clean and has been tastefully renovated. Our apartment had a high-quality kitchen, a spotless bathroom, plenty of living space, and ample wardrobe storage. The highlight of the top-floor apartment (“Prinsen”) is the original roof structure, visible behind a glass wall. In the evening, the atmospheric lighting makes it even more special. Maishofen is also an excellent base for exploring the region. It is centrally located, making it easy to spend a day at Lake Zell in Zell am See, enjoy the mountains around Saalbach-Hinterglemm, or take the scenic drive to Lofer, where the cable car to the waterfalls and playgrounds is free with the guest card. We also really appreciated the farm products (fresh eggs, milk, jam, and honey) and the excellent bread ordering service, which was both flexible and of high quality."
